We all want to get better. What if you got perfect? Down the middle and onto the green, two putt and on to the next hole to do it all over again. Would you miss the game as you play it now. The challenge to get out of the woods. We face hard shots on a regular basis that great players only have one or two a round. I think we are all great as we manage par from some terrible lies. Would you miss the challenge you have now for all perfect shots.

And for anyone else that wants to keep this pointless hate thread going, (I sure as hell don't), here is my 1st response to the original poster's question. Take notice of the last 4 words:

(I would bet that any pro that shot even par , EVERY time he played, would make MOST every cut. and would end up winning big money and live happily ever after!
that's just my opinion!)

Right or wrong, It is my opinion.

Point taken.

For the umpteenth time.
Please respect me and go back to the beginning and read the original question. And the following responses. The original question had NOTHING to do with making the TOUR. It asked about how we would feel hitting perfect shots. I answered that. Then LL turned it into a negative thread by bringing tour qualifying. into it. then the crickets came out of the woodwork. That's like asking me if I want eggs or pancakes for breakfast and I tell you eggs. But then you say that the grass can't be mowed properly if I eat eggs. WTF? That wasn't the question.
I only ramped up my responses when I started feeling like Custer at his last stand. So again, why don't we stick to the topic, refrain from personal attacks, and start our own new threads if we think they need to be discussed.

Leave it to a Davie guy to bring up a guy with a horse!!

That was a personal attack too... but I think it was funny. Moving on...

OK so no one read my link where this was actually broken down by the actual numbers?

Don, no one was trying to say that your opinion was wrong. What everyone was commenting on was the middle of your quote about a Tour Pro shooting even par every round and living happily ever after. The numbers don't lie. Shooting even par on Tour will put a Tour Pro back in the Mini Tours after one full season.

Fair enough. but the original thread had nothing to do with weather or not one could make it as a pro. I even said for MY game I would be happy hitting every green, fairway, and hitting all perfect shots. someone else twisted this thing and ran with it.

I have no problem with that at all. In fact, I love "boring" golf (fairway, green and 2-putt). I do have an issue when you jump on some people just because what you understood about what they said was so off the chart.

1. Cog listed the level needed to make the cuts on all the tourney so far this year.
2. You misunderstood that as meaning the winning score, and promptly declared that an even par player would have won twice and finished second a few more times, which is provably wrong.
3. Jay corrected you and said that of the 6 cuts a par player would have made, that player would probably finish around 60th (for these tournaments).
4. You wrongly again interpreted that to mean that you'd finish 60th on the FedEx cup points list or on the yearly money list, both of which are provably wrong.
5. When called on it, you accuse me to have my panties in a wad.

Look, Don, I don't care who you are or how your panties are, or if you hate me or like me, or if you love boring golf, or if you might miss the great recovery shots if you only played boring golf. But I do care that your misunderstanding of the question at hand causes you to jump on a poor schmuck without any kind of civility, when in fact, YOU are in the wrong, and provably so. That said, I have a nice day (playing boring golf, or not)!

I know that every time I've ever gone to the Davie Rodeo I always see a Horse and the guy trying to stay on that bucking horse and trying to tie him down with the lasso is the jackass! Although, I've been accused of being a jackass myself, so I won't deny that either.

Interesting definition of 'perfect' golf. I suspect any person who played the way you defined it would face a lot of frustration. Think about it. What would it be like to never hit your approach shot close enough to make birdie? Or get it close enough and never make the putt.

But I get your point. A lot of joy comes from making a great recovery shot--and that would be lost.

One of the great things about golf is the enjoyment that can found regardless of the score or the player's ability.

You are right. The challenge is always there. You get it in the fairway then try to get it on the green. Two putts move on. Then new challenge comes up. Try to get it closer and make first putt. Its a challenge no matter who you are. Just ask Tiger.

I would love to get that good. Almost all the golf I play has a wager on it, and I hate losing.

Me too. I'm trying and no luck.Going the other way.
