Was pretty shocked to hear the news last night that Phil is being investigated by the FBI and SEC.
"Five-time PGA major winner Phil Mickelson is one of three men being investigated in what the Wall Street Journal calls "a major insider-trading probe involving finance, gambling and sports," the newspaper reported on its website Friday night." "According to the Journal, the investigation also involves Carl Icahn, the 78-year-old billionaire who runs the publicly traded Icahn Enterprises, and William "Billy" Walters, a famed Las Vegas bettor and real-estate mogul. "I have done absolutely nothing wrong," Mickelson said in a statement Friday after the second round of the Memorial Tournament. "I have cooperated with the government in this investigation and will continue to do so. I wish I could fully discuss this matter, but under the current circumstances, it's just not possible." |

wait ... my sides are hurting *BWWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!* yeah, Phil's freaking Jesus. bow to him and all his "hard work" hahahahaha ... it's so awesome. Phil's been a phoney of the highest order for years; he whines and complains about taxes cutting into his piles of money, so much so that he can't afford to fuel up his private jet; he gambles on everything all the time, but he gets pulled aside by the feds twice (this one wasn't the first time), and he's a great American. *goes back to holding sides* I think I'm just not getting your point. So here's mine just to be perfectly clear... Phil earned his status. He wasn't Michelle Wie and signed a $100 M contract before teeing it up the first time. He won and won often and capitalized on his opportunities that HE made. Just like Tiger did. Neither got anything for free, but had people lined up because they were once-in-a-lifetime talents. Phil and Tiger travel in private jets and they deserve it because they can. Phil has a financial advisor and he tells Phil I can make you $$ with this, or you can lose $$ being in that, so let's get out of it. That's what advisors do; I don't have Phil's bank account, but I got a guy like that who manages my retirement, and it's a relationship based on faith. Not sure where your dislike comes from for Phil, but you have the right so I won't question it. He's a charitable guy and a decent guy; I know that because it's what people say and write about him. Is he a choir boy??? Who the hell cares. He's living the American dream because he can. If you want to knock it or knock him, go right ahead. I guess I just don't see why you think that compares him to Jesus. Nobody said that. Most people are giving him the benefit of the doubt on this. If you don't... then you basically are knocking every other guy out there too. my point is that: Shocked? That Phil Mickelson *might* be an insider-trading criminal? If you're shocked that Lefty *might* be insider trading, then you're stupid or in denial. And I'm laughing ... at you and anybody else stupid enough to believe the 1% isn't screwing you every chance they get *AND* getting away with it. You can't be that naive. How much smoke does there have to be for everybody to go, Oh, S!!! THAT's a fire!??? Of course, with Lefty in particular, he can afford to buy his way out of something like this. I'm sure he will. Hey, that's the American Dream, so good for him, right? Insider trading is VERY hard to prove, so it makes it that much more likely that he'll get off scott free. So good for Lefty. The guy who grew up with a green IN HIS BACK YARD worked hard and had no help along the way, earned every single thing he got, and hell, why shouldn't he be allowed then to take what he earned and trade stock (gamble legally) off information you and me aren't privvy to? America ... not an oligarchy AT ALL. This ass-clown and others like him is why we have a "spread-the-wealth" socialist in the White House. Premeaux makes barely above minimum wage as a no-talent sports reporter, and like most liberals, despises anyone who has achieved success. In his minimum-wage mind, they're all screwing the rest of us. Phil had a green in his backyard? So What? His father was a Navy fighter pilot, then a commercial pilot. The family was by no means rich. It ain't like a putting green is equivalent to a vacation beach house. Back when his dad put the green in, it probably didn't cost $5 grand. Hey Premeaux, Phil spends more on tips in restaurants in a month than you've reported in income to the IRS in the past five years. But keep making an ass of yourself. Everyone loves a clown! |
