As much as we all love the game, there are parts of it that drive me nuts. Tell us if something really tics you off about playing the game. I'll start with this. I hit my shot and watch the flight of the ball from club to landing, I know exactly where the ball lands. I might mark it by a tree or a bush maybe the 150 yd marker whatever the case may be. I now arrive at the spot and no ball to be found, Maybe it hit sprinkler head or a rock, maybe it's somewhere in the deep rough but it can't be found, even thou it's in a wide open area. Now I am adding a stroke for a lost ball, Thats just great. This doesn't happen to Pro's because there are hundreds of people showing them where their ball is. They don't even have to look for it. Make them look for there own balls like I have to. If I could play with a gallery to find my ball I would be a couple of shots better.

Agreed that is very frustrating. The worst for me is hitting an awesome drive right down the middle leaving a straight forward second shot, and chunking your second shot for 10 yards.... I would rather 3 putt any day.

Mike, I couldn't agree more that's the reason why I always say my Handicap is even more realistic than the pro's handicap, they never lose a ball no matter where they hit it, there's always someone who will find their balls.

The footprint in the sand is absolutely BS I just can't believe it. But there's something that really kills me and is when I'm in the middle clubs and decide to go with the lower lofted club and decided to short the swing or whatever I do to take off some distance and then in fact I hit it short.... Nothing gets me out of my game like that.

Or going with the higher lofted club to play it safe and then pure the thing over the green.

Or on a short par 4 going with the 3 or 5 wood to avoid trouble in front of the green only to miss hit the thing and land in the fairway bunker or lateral WH.

Or laying up with an iron on a par 5 second shot and blading it into the water hazard you were trying to take out of play by not going for it in 2.

Vince, you've got issues man! You should be puring EVERY shot. And what's this "blading" issue you're having? I'm not familiar with it. Someone help this kid before he ingrains that! At this stage, a beginner should be making a correct backswing, getting the club to the correct top position. It is just UGLY to see someone sweep it back way inside and then downswing OTT. Do that a few thousand times and he will struggle when he gets serious.

I don't know if I lose more balls or chunk more shots. It might be a toss up. :-)
