Luis, click on the link near the top of the original post. Click on the tab on the upper right of the page that should say "Join Group". Once you do, I'll accept your request, and then you'll need to send Bruce $10, be it through PayPal or in the mail to be a member.

Thanks Ethan, my check will be in the mail today.

I just joined- hope it's not too late.

I put the bag away after last season, and started taking video lessons in March. Good to be golf season again. Got the first crappy round of the year out of my system on Sunday. Shot about 25 strokes worse than my handicap from the end of last season, so I doubt I'm much of a threat for the near future. But once I get my swing back together, look out y'all.

4 days to go ...

Enjoy the Masters this weekend.

Note that April 14 is NOT the last day to sign up for the SFGT. It is merely the BEGINNING of the SFGT season.

The last day to sign up and pay is May 25 ... but if you wait until then, you will have missed two events. If you wait until April 28, you will have missed the first event. Since points are awarded for each event, missing any events will put you behind the curve.

Also, don't forget ... you cannot declare your round for an event until your payment has been received.

So don't delay ... sign up today!

Just applied for the group. Btw, I am cheap and don't have an official handicap here, but I can provide my GHIN (Northern California GA) number. Is that ok, or must I have a handicap here as well?

Not a problem per the commish. You will need to post your scores in both places, of course. And anyone in the group will have access as well to see your postings in the NCGA for peer review.

At Etowah Valley the tee box's have painted concrete markers in the ground but they move colored wood markers back and forth on the tee box. Sometimes the markers are even moved to a different box resulting in as much as a 20 yard difference on a single hole. For scoring purposes in SFGT events, which should I use? The stationery or movable markers?

Vince, i would use the moveable ones. That is pick a set of tees (eg blues or whites) and stick with it for the round even if the distances don't match the score card, which is based on the permanent markers. The wooden/moveable markers in conjunction with the pin placement are the setup of the day and on average have the same rating as the permanent markers with middle of the green pins. Sometimes longer, sometimes shorter but evenly wearing out the course (tee boxes and greens).

I would be amazed if that type of coordination was taking place, at least at EV. I think they are simply looking for even wear of the tee box. I've noticed lately that the blue markers are even with or behind the permanent blue and often all the way back with the gold permanent marker. Either way, thanks for the feedback.
