When tied in the Lead of a Tournament; What determines the order? Is it alphabetical, first in, lowest round? Tied for less than the lead really doesn't matter, or does it? |

First in the clubhouse.

If you are asking what determines the order in the absence of a playoff, then what Mongo said. If you are asking what determines the order of who tees off at the first tee in a playoff, that varies.

I find more interesting the order of players on the leaderboard when cutting to commercial.
If 12 people are tied for 7th place and the screen only fits 7 on the first page, then Tiger is listed 7th if he one of the 12. If it's CBS and Fred Couples is one of the 12 tied for 7th, then Fred gets the first page slot because he was a roommate of Jim Nance in college. |

Well technically, first in the clubhouse, or the golfer who is further along in the round gets listed first.
On TV though, it's whatever storyline/media favorite the network wants. |

I used to think for live scoring the names were listed alphabetically. Now I think the alphabet starts with "W".

It's by the order of who finished when, unless Tiger's name is in there in which case he automatically jumps to the top.

He's right though... the leaderboard order is determined by Tiger and anyone else that get the network ratings. First in the clubhouse determines pairings but that's just to determine the sacrificial lamb that will be paired up with Tiger on Sunday and his ignorant gallery. |

The funniest thing I ever saw with the networks rotating around Woods was in the final round of the 09 Memorial. Tiger made a bogey on the Front 9 to fall out of the Top 5. Now for those of you that notice, you'll know that USUALLY CBS's mini leaderboard contains 5 players, so Tiger's name shouldn't have been in there, right? Well, no. They expanded it to 6, and even though Tiger's T6 with 3 or 4 other guys, CBS made an exception to stretch out their leaderboard just to show Tiger's in the mix. I've never seen them do that since. |

They usually have the playoff participants guess the number of tees in the officials hands or flip a tee or a coin. |

I used to think for live scoring the names were listed alphabetically. Now I think the alphabet starts with "W". They are listed alphabetically when they run the participant ticker at the bottom of your tv screen. The official scoreboard is based on score and if there are ties, I think it's arbitrary or network preference as to who is listed first. |

I do not understand the impetus behind screaming "mashed potatoes" or "rocketballz" especially to a player who does not have a Taylor Made equipment deal or "get in the hole" when someone tees off on a par-5. |
