Golf is a game in which etiquette is a central theme, yet many of us have lost our temper with other people on the golf course and have had, at best, a heated exchange, and at worst...?. I always feel like an idiot after these and vow never to let my temper get the best of me again. This brings to mind something someone posted recently, which is you don't know who your're going off on out there. So let's here some stories. It's like driving, right? It's always the other person's fault.

I got a good one. Playing on a Friday afternoon a few years ago at Victoria Hills Golf Club in Deland FL. We are just a 2some and we are playing a $5 nassau. This course has GPS built in and if you drive into an area you don't belong the screen will warn you. If you proceed it will shut down the cart. To get the cart to start again you have to hit the OK button and then put the cart in reverse and get out of the area carts don't belong. The screen tells you to follow these steps.

Hole #4 is a par 4 and I am down 2 already!! I put my drive in a deep fairway bunker. My friend Dan hits his approach to 15ft left of the hole and has a good birdie look. I have to layup due to the lip of the bunker and I fire my 3rd shot right over the pin about 18-20ft long. This par 4 bottlenecks from about 80y wide to about 20y wide at about a 100y out with water on the left and swamp/water hazard on the right. Fairway is always a little soft in this area. From 100y in you can't drive your cart anywhere except the cart path on the left edge of the fairway along the water. It's not a cart path either, its like compact sand and sea shells. It's the only place on the course it has this but the fairway has signs that point that direction. You can only enter at about 100y.

I got to make this putt!!! As I line up to hit my par putt a lady comes driving up the middle of the fairway inside a 100y. I back off because it distracts me because she is behind my target line. Her cart shuts down. She is looking for the restroom which we tell her is at the end of the next par 5. We explain what she should do but she is panicing. She can't get the cart to start and tells me to go ahead. I'm not putting until she backs out and drives by. I repeat the intructions to get the cart started about 5 times before she gets it and drives back 100y to get up the path. I am a bit fustrated and miss the putt. Down 3!!!

As we drive to the tee box of the par 5 she is coming back towards us and Dan ask if she found the bathroom. I have my head down thinking about my drive already as she says no. She gave up. Dan says to her its at the end of this hole. She doesn't listen and proceeds back to her group saying she gives up! I never said a word, didn't even look at her during this exchange.

So both of us are about 100y out waiting to hit our approach shots but the group in front is still on the green. I am on the leftside with the cart, Dan walked across the fairway to his ball and was waiting. I turned around and cart is coming up the fairway, this time the lady is the passanger and her husband is driving.

The lady is screaming "Stop Steve!! Stop!! Steve jumps out of the cart within 10y of me with his driver over his head ready to swing it at me. He says "Are you the one harrasing my wife! Is this the guy?!". He is approaching me, driver over his head like he's going to swing it like an ax! I told him "Steve you better think about what your doing before you get to close to me" I held my 60* half way down the shaft and planned on using it on him if need be. I choked down but kept it down at my side.

His wife is pleading for him to stop!! Dan came running back across the fairway and he turned and asked his wife if that was the guy!?! She said no, he was nice!!! LMAO!!! So he directed is attention back to me. I warned him again, he better think about what he wants to do... and if he took that swing things would not be working out in his favor. Dan told him the same. He kept on screaming. Finally as he is not backing down Dan tells him one more time "Steve, get the F back in your cart like your wife is telling you, turn the F around and don't even think of coming within 200y of us unless you want the beatdown we are about to give you"

HAHA! He wised up and got out of there.... he didn't come back the rest of the day! My heart was racing for the next two or three holes. I ended up losing the front, but won the back and overall match! This is the only time I have ever had a problem on the course... Not sure what she said to him to get him fired up like that but she was the one in the wrong place and ALL's I wanted was her out of there before I took my putt!

Playing in the Morning of a SLOW day. The group behind us decided to hit into us a few times earlier in the round...while we were waiting to hit our shots since the group in front of us was still on the green!
Finally we reached the 9th which is a reachable PAR 5. I ripped a good drive and I wanted to have a go at the green in 2. As I was waiting to hit 2nd ball with the group in front of me still putting out...I could hear heckles from the tee box. "What the #### are you waiting for? You are are not going to come to close to the green" ECT. At this point I was ready to explode on these guys. I shook it off and I struck a perfect three wood and ran my second ball to the back of the green in two. Felt great to be able to excute that shot...felt so good that I made sure to tell the group behind me as they were coming up 9 and I was teeing up on 10.

The only thing better would have been if everyone in your group was bending the ear of the group behind on how you drove the green in two.

Heckles from the tee box, ....that would get old for me in a quick instant. I never lose my temper, but in that case I would just have to de-direct as many shag balls as I could find in my bag back at the tee box. Someone intentionally disrupting me while I am playing?, no mercy for them as far as I'm concerned.

Another interesting one....

I was golfing 2 weeks ago at Airport greens in willoughby ohio,

I'm going to say right now that what i did is wrong but some times i can't help it. tooo funny....for us. i'm a jerk. nvm any ways. check it out.

I was drinkin with my buddies and i took my Sharpe Marker and wrote on my ball .... "If you find this then...F**K You ya theif !!!"

we were jammed up at 11 and i was hitting terrible duck hooks all day so i figured i can hit my drive and not push the guys in front of us walking up to the green.

the hole is a par 4 285 yrds.

I hit my drive and killed it (on accident) i was just trying to make the fairway and it so happen to be the best drive i hit all day and my ball carried 260 and rolled up to the right corner of the green and the guys on the green putting started FLIPPING OUT. they took my ball and i could tell they we're reading it (looking down at it) and then the macho guy started to walk all the way back up the par 4 fairway to our tee box.

we sat and waited (mean while i grabbed my sand wedge because i though he was gunna fight me) and he started screamin . IS THIS YOUR BALL. DID YOU WRITE THIS ON HERE. ARE YOU F***IN WITH US!

i replied......NO dude, no one even hit yet we we're waiting for you to clear the green.

he was like yah right! Your a F***IN A** HOLE if you hit into us again we're going to have serious problems. then he took my ball and gave it back to me. so i hit it across 6 fairways for someone else to find.

lol j/k i threw it away but still i guess you can't mess arround too much sometimes....
