Golf is a crazy game. I think i was a little slow adding 2 & 2. I have been scratching my head for a while over the difference between the driving range and the golf course. When I go the the driving range, I hit these long beautiful straight shots one after another. I even sit down between shots so I can train myself to have the same stance, grip and overall feeling. Then i go to the course and Im slicing or hooking trying to overcorrect, but I think I have the reason why. "Can playing a Tour ball affect your game? Absolutely." Thats Srixon's new ad line. Well, I think it has been hurting my game.

I play Srixon Z-Star balls and I seem to put way too much spin on them. If I play a hard cheap ball, I'm right down the middle. If I play my nice Srizxon yellows, Im 270 yards over to the right. I dont know why im just getting this. So im thinking of playing the Srixon Q Stars now to play a harder ball. Anyone else go through this?

So I played a harder ball on Friday and what a difference. I hit 7 out of 14 fairways. The ball stuck on the green, but with the harder shell, all of my putts were 10 feet past the hole. It was difficult to 2 putt from more than 15 feet. Now I have to find a ball with the best of both worlds.

Try the Bridgestone E6 or the Srixon Trispeed Tour. Both are great golf balls with the E6 being a little easier to find in my experience. The E6 is my favorite and is consistantly straighter of the T then the Trispeed. However the Trispeed has a little more spin around the greens. Both putt about the same. The Srixon Soft Feel is also a ball you should consider but it has very little spin around the greens.

Yes. Even my softer putts went further than I wanted them to. I just need to practice my control with these balls.

You could use a putter with an insert (or a softer insert if you already use an insert putter). Then you would get the benefit of the harder ball without the downside of zinging the ball too far on the greens. Just a thought...

ThaThat might have worked. Unfortunately, I dont have a putter with an insert. Thats definitely something i would not have thought of though. Thanks for the idea.
