Good morning all,

If you were given a choice between Calla way and Taylor Made for new irons which one would select and why? I ask because I recently purchased a set of X22's and am just curious what others would have done.

A good thing to do if you are looking for irons is to find a place that has as many different clubs to try as possible. If there is a good used club store near you that would be a good place to start. Don't get to bogged down in what brand they are just try out as many as you can until you find the ones you like. All the major manufacturers are making good stuff these days and you really can't go wrong you just have to find what you like best.

Wrong questions. It's the tool, not the logo that will make the difference when you are out on the course.

With irons it's really important that you get fit for lie angle, shaft thickness and torque. Irons are all about consistency, accuracy, and getting a tool that matches your ability.

If you are a beginner, you want a club that you can get into the air and that is hard to hook or slice.

If you are a skilled player you want a club that will allow you to shape shots and gives you great feedback.

With irons accuracy is way more important than distance.

OK let me change the question a bit I can spend up to 499.99 on a set of irons. What are some models you recomend I hit.

If you only have 5 bills to spend on irons, I would look at a set of Taylormade Tour Burner irons. I have been playing a set of them for about 2 years and I love hitting them. When I bought them they ran almost 800 a set and now they are around 350. You could prolly take the other 150 and have them fitted for you. They are really good irons and they have been making them for 3 years now and the only thing that they have changed are the stock shafts. I think they have more options now then when I got mine.
