Looks like this is the beginning of the end. No needed fixes/updates to chairman's controls of the club, no answers to questions, Jim Douglass who was answering questions constantly when the site flipped overnight a few months ago has been mysteriously silent. Now at the 11th hour of the World Handicap we get no responses. How the hell are we supposed to run a club if we can't get answers or even a simple phone number to call? Now we are expected to collect $2 per person from our HUNDREDS of club members that USHandicap has dropped in our clubs over the years? 99.9% of them we have never seen or heard from EVER! Let alone NO WAY to contact them via email because the changes took that away from us too. How exactly does USHandicap propose we collect $2 from hundreds of members we have no way of contacting? Please don't give us "just post it to the club page". We all know that the same 99.9% of the members don't even look at it. Will we get an answer before 2020 or more crickets?

Regular members have no idea of this because the chairmen, if they are active at all, do all the legwork for the clubs. So if you have a deadbeat chairman your handicap will most likely be invalid come 2020 unless USHandicap does something. For those of you that enter tournaments requiring a handicap...good luck. Better yet, prepare now to join GHIN where they are well prepared for this turnover.

WHAT A SHITSHOW! I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it. It was good knowing you all. Glad I got contact info from my closest friends here.

A slow death by pins and needles. As to handicap, if and when I might play again, my rounds are usually at sunup alone, or I get paired with a group. Either way, my scores will not be attested but I don't see myself playing in any "official" tournaments anytime soon.

Hello,
I responded to Mongo68 in another thread and answered his question about the $2 fee. US Handicap will of course be collecting that fee.

We are doing our best to keep our clubs compliant, but the USGA makes things challenging for us.

To your point that GHIN is "well prepared for the turnover" - of course they are because they control it. We are working to tie into their database as per their requirements. With this only days away we are still getting new programming methods from them on a daily basis.
