Forget the 215 yd 5 iron. My 250 yd 3 iron was all the rave at Raptor Bay a couple of weeks ago. Spectacular!

Well with temps below 60 I am sure you got extra roll on the "frozen" ground.

Why limit yourself to one? Every course plays different from each tee box. I play from 5800-6900. I normally score better around 6200, but the other box's make me hit shots I normally don't have to make. Imo it will make me a better golfer.

I normally play the tees that are at 6400 to 6700 yard range. just for fun or misery we will play the tips or pro tees and get a rude awakening

Grats on the Grandchild! Now I have a question. I have just returned to Golf after 10 yrs and 4 back surgeries including a full fusion. I have actually had to change my swing to a "Senior" swing because I just cant "torque" up like the young bucks anymore. I am 46. So your saying that I can hit from Senior Tees or Tees under 400yd Par 4? I have never played anything but White Tees. I think I would now be more comfortable at the Gold but I don't want people to think I'm trying to gain an advantage.

hey Shawn in 1995 I also had L 4-5 back fusion and at 54 years old now I can no longer torque my lower back either but I am hitting it 275 yards with a solid drive, not much difference than before(new equipment and fittings help) so maybe with some time you'll be able get it out there like before. I wouldn't worry about playing gold tees for now, Its all about how far you hit an average drive to which tees to play so that the course plays as it was designed to.

OK. Thanks! I see now. When I wrote this I had not hit very much. Since I have been going to the range at least every day. It turns out I'm not quite as limited as I thought. Distance is not the issue. Hitting it straight is the issue so I have been working on that. When I get decent hits I do go about 275 so I will still play the whites. Well as others have said, I guess it depends on the yardage. With two good hits there is no reason I should not be able to hit GIR....... with good hits hehe.
