Lets talk about it again..............

It's already been taken care of. Details by late March. Be patient, everyone will like it. If they don't then they aren't true golfers and we wouldn't want them there anyway. It's TOP SECRET info that everyone will know shortly as the fine details get worked out.

So, who exactly 'took care of it'? And who exactly is 'we'?, as in ...WE wouldn't want them anyway.....

Is this a National Get Together, or the same ol' "crony golf group"?

Hmmm........

I took care of this one with Jay's input just like we did the first one in Philly in 2014. Jay took care of the last 2 in Florida with my input. I took the reigns on 2017. "We" would be all the guys that have been regulars at the past NGT's. Is it the same ol' crony group? That depends on who decides to come and whether it's the same old faces or if we get some new blood with guys that say they're coming each year then don't or if they find a reason to finally make it.

So when it's announced, YOU will decide which side you'll fall on. The ol' crony group will continue to be there each year but it's up to you if you'd like to be a part of the cronies or find an excuse not to make it...Again.

Nice jab Mongo. I wouldn't have expected anything less from you. Truth is that I wanted to attend both NGT's. But due to circumstances that were beyond my control, I couldn't make them. I even had reservations for last years which I had to cancel. Not that you need to know, but I am an open book so I'll clear the air now.
The first year I broke my finger. Can't play golf with a broken finger. Last year I started having issues with my heart again. Something I will deal with for the rest of my life. As a matter of fact, I rarely play golf anymore because of it. But sometimes I get to practice when I feel up to it. So there you have it. Who knows, maybe I'll feel up to it this year and finally make it. I know that would make you feel better.

It has nothing to do with you in particular. It has to do with everyone who says "yeah, I'm definitely coming" then when it's time to put their money with their mouth is, it never happens. When I SAY "You will decide which side you'll fall on" that's a reference to EVERYONE who comes up short each year. Don't take it personal.

Yeah. Ok. so now you're gonna try to sell me a bridge in the desert. lol.

Just curious Don, other than because I answered YOUR question, for what reason would I have to tell you anything other than the way it is. Why not just accept that I answered your questions rather than reading a bunch of assumptions into it even after you second guessed it all?

You answered my questions perfectly. It was your bold faced lie that you were not addressing me in particular, when in fact you were, that's what makes your credibility worthless. That's why.

Whatever Don! If your goal is to win this discussion, you win. You're wrong but you win. I hate to tell you but it's not always about you. As you have never planned one of these with Jay and I then you have no idea how many people swear they're coming and don't show. I'd say it's close to 50% or more. For the record, I never even mentioned you breaking a finger although I know that's why you didn't make it before. You either have a mercurial temperament or you just don't believe what I say even though I assured you it has nothing to do with you. Maybe you should ask Jay and he can tell you the same thing regarding people being all talk and not showing up when push comes to shove. I like you Don, but you don't make it easy when you have to win every discussion and turn your assumptions about others or what they say into your own self-satisfying facts.

When you're wrong, admit it. Nobody has ever choked to death from swallowing his pride and admitting he's wrong. It's not giving up. It's called growing up.

So grow up yourself. You called me out when you typed the word 'YOU" in caps. If you meant 'everybody', then why not say 'EVERYBODY'? Just admit it. You fucked up. I'll forgive you. If anybody here needs to grow up, its you. And yes you did refer to the fact that I missed the first two NGT's when you said the word, "AGAIN". And you knew I had legit reasons for not attending, yet you still took a shot at me. Your drunken double speak doesn't cut it with me sonny boy.
So now lets get to the meat of the issue. Who died and left you in charge of making plans for the NGT? There are thousands of members of this site. Some of which may just like to have some imput into where there could be a meet and greet. Some of them being ME. What gives you the right to make all the decisions. If this is going to be another private boys club event, then keep it just that. Contact your preferred buddies in private and go have a good time playing some great courses with them. Seriously Don, you can do better than this.................. Probably why the turnout has fallen off drastically. I'm just sayin'..........

Wrong again Don.
-"YOU" in caps is to anybody reading the post.
-"AGAIN" is to the people who continually say they are coming and never back it up by showing up. it was NOT a shot at you. You TOLD us you weren't coming because you broke your finger. The 50% that don't show never respond to let anyone know. and THAT is the most frustrating part of the whole process to me AND Jay.
-Who died and left me in charge? My question is who died and left you as the self proclaimed judge and jury?
-What gives me the right to make all the decisions? Once again, "I" don't make all the decisions. Since Jay and I were the ones who formed the whole idea of an annual get together it would only make sense for US to continue it for the future. However, it's never been a closed door policy to not let anyone else in. The input is taken from lots of people that discuss it and it WAS discussed at last year's NGT. There were lots of suggestions from the so-called "ol crony group" Which we already know most will be there again this year because we have all become good friends as a result of the whole idea. It's NEVER been a "private boys club event". That's your observation as I can see how it might be perceived that way but if you (not YOU in particular, Don, anybody reading this) were a part of it then maybe you'd understand the friendships that have formed.
-"Probably why the turnout has fallen off drastically." I'll say it again (and so would Jay, even though you want to pick ME apart). Most guys talk about coming, but far few back it up when it's time to commit to it and never even let us know. Again, YOU did, this is NOT about you. So it's been JAY'S and my decision to limit the number of spots available because of no-shows. Jay reserved 10 tee times each day (40 spots) in Tampa. How many showed up? I don't remember the exact number but it was about 13. Jay could tell you definitively. How embarrassing to tell courses well have 10 foursomes and we get less than 4! THAT is the reason it's limited to 16 people this year. If we sell out the 16 with actually monetary commitments ahead of time then we will explore expansion for this year if it's possible and will expand it for next year if we sell out. By the way, the decision to limit the numbers this year was JAY'S suggestion.

OUR decision for this year's location was based on a contact I have in the area we are playing and discounts he is able to give us.

The ball's in your court, Don. You can accept what I have explained multiple times and draw your own "it's all about me" conclusions or realize you ARE wrong in your assumptions. As far as making this a private event as you like to call it. It's not, we have limited the numbers to save face with the courses we talk to and the reasons I have explained.

I'm pretty sure it's not your nature, but just accept it and move on. I told you that you won so that you would stop with the satisfaction of winning 100% of every discussion but if you want to keep going with it that's fine. I'll continue. You're only making yourself look foolish with your self-absorbed behavior to anyone reading this.

That was a great example of back paddling Mr Mongo. I'll accept that you actually believe what you write. But your most proving example of your virgin like personality would in your last paragraph. Very tasteful. Thank you sir.

Guys... seriously? It'll be a great event.

Do we really need to take a simple forum post make such a ridiculous exchange out of it?

These things are incredibly cumbersome to plan; I know first hand. I have been talking to Mongo about this and he has done a great job setting up a "memorable" event. Let's get the final details and it will be posted.

If you choose to come, you won't be disappointed. But seriously... simmer down. This is GOLF not marriage.

I know, right?!?!? Jay, your post echoes the messages and texts I've got from 6 other people (although I'm sure that's perceived as a lie too) 2 of them I don't even know but we're reading the forum.

Put the final details together and then share them with a new post. Let's not complicate or argue about something that has no reason to have ANY negativity to it. Jeez.

For sure - I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends including DonF if you decide / can make it.

Ducking the :poop: storm. We should call this thread done.
