I'll never stop being amazed by this crazy game of golf. How we can play so well and come back and play so poorly. Confidence is a huge factor. After playing 2 decent 9's out of 5 last weekend at Pine Hill I wasn't sure where my game was headed. I started the season off so strong and gradually got worse. This morning I had to find my swing. After a great session on the range, I had a ton of confidence. Though the weather hasn't been great, I had to challenge myself. So I went and played a par 68 (no slope or rating at Kresson). I three putt for bogey on 1 and just moved on. I was determined to play this round a shot at a time. I rattled off a few pars and my confidence was on the rise. I managed to throw away shots on holes 7 & 9 by not playing smart. So I made the turn determined to shoot a decent score. And I did. I stayed in the moment and made good choices. My only real flaw on the back was when I played thru the group ahead of me. I played that hole a little quick, but just pressed on and was back on the par train. Shot my best round ever of 84.

6/22/2009 9:40:46 AM Congratulations on your best score ever. The enigma in golf is that the harder you try the worse you will play. Just play each shot as well as possible, not harder just better, smooth and relaxed, and then forget about it. Add up your score after the round is over, not during the round, you will be surprised how much better that works out and how much pressure that will take off each shot.nd then forget about it.
