Let's start by putting it out there that I'm a high handicapper. Most of the people I play with are much better than me and that keeps me focused. However, I've played just about every sport out there and have always been very competitive. The other day I was playing on my B-day. I played 18 at Ramblewood (the course wasn't in great shape) and I let the course conditions get to me. After that miserable 18, I drove down the road to Pennsauken CC. This place is usually in good shape. I got grouped with these 2 pros who wanted to play a semi competitive skins type match. No money, but a light hearted game. I wound up shooting my lowest round to date on a regulation course. Don't know if it was the competition making me concentrate or the fact that the round I played earlier had my expectations low. These guys were a good time. It was fun and I even took a couple skins with some pars. Overall, it was a good day.

3/12/2009 5:11:10 PM I like to putt on good fast greens, when they are too slow or bumpy it is hard to be consistent. Playing with better players can be good and bad no matter what the format. It can be good because you might learn something about your own game, it is a real good way to improve your game if you stay within yourself. It can be bad if they are a lot longer than you are and you press too hard to try to keep up.might learn something about your own game, it is a real good way to improve your game if you stay within yourself. 3/11/2009 4:24:52 PM Skins is a great game, like TheMrD234 said. I also think a good will make you play better and competition for money or not will make you play even better yet. We played one day 4 of us. 2 of them were a little better then I am. 3 holes were won that day. My son won the 1st hole with a bird. I won number 7 with an eagle, and I won number 18 with a par. One of my best played games to date.ere a little better then I am. 3 holes were won that day. My son won the 1st hole with a bird. I won number 7 with an eagle, and I won number 18 with a par. 3/11/2009 3:33:35 PM Skins are fun. You don't have to win the hole to stay in the game. One bad hole won't ruin a round. |
