Another addition to my old clubs. While shown is a picture of a 2 iron, I purchased the 5 iron today for $2 in very similar condition.

It's a Wright & Ditson Spalding was still using their name. Lawson Little AUTOGRAPH is on the back - named for the only golfer to win both the US and British Amateur in the same year, two years in a row.

It has a leather grip that is identical to the Spalding Cash-In putter that I have already posted those pics.

The shaft is metal but looks like wood because it is covered in a substance called pyratone. It is greenish brown in color.

Can't find the exact date of the club but some research shows it is late 1930's but more likely early 1940's.

I'll post actual pics of the 5 iron later.

I just noticed there is a "C" stamped into the back of the toe of the clubhead...can't find what that means

On the grip it says "Improved Control Grip" Patened. The shaft has three patent numbers: 1.916.791, 1.890.538, 1.818.553
