That is one cool photo! Your much braver than I ever would be, I like to keep a good distance from things that slither and bite! Just curious, where were you golfing when you came acrossed the Cobra so that I know exactly where I do not want to golf. Call me a chicken, I don't mind! LOL :)

To be honest this snake really was a baby - about a foot in length. I would never bother going anywhere near an adult cobra. We were surprised to see it actually - normally cobras are very wary of people and slither off before we are in sight. gj24 this is what is called an Indian Cobra or Spectacled Cobra. See the previous picture of the hood where you can see the markings that give the species its name.

I've seen worse in some courses in Florida - alligators lazing around like garden lizards. Actually most courses usually have a healthy bunch of animals who enjoy the environment. Our course has a bunch of peacocks, hares and a large variety of birds. The peacocks actually thrive on snakes so its not like this guy has it easy. Eagles and hawks also have snakes on their menus.
