Here we have a photo of Musselburgh today. Notice the course is no longer seaside, but rather almost a mile inland! The local mining company deposited the dirt from their mines and the land gradually expanded. The previous photo I posted was from 1889 and the hole still called "The Sea Hole" on the water is now near a mile away!

Yes a horse track actually runs through the course. Even stranger still they played the OPen Championship on this course with the very same horse track running through it...now thats old school.
