According to who? And are you really trying to say "above plane"? Steep/shallow generally refers to AoA, not plane. And if you want to hit a cut, you're looking pretty good in this picture. You have to have an above average amount of body rotation from here (above plane) to hit it solid and avoid the chicken wing, but it's certainly not uncommon.
