A group of Golf Enthusiasts met at The Residency, under the Chairmanship of Then British Resident, A P Howell Esq,. and took the decision to establish this Club at Bolarum on a gently rolling plain of about 200 acres. Thus, came into being on 13 April 1888, one of the oldest golf courses in the World. In 1905 The Club House was built by Ramanna Pulliah.

One of the problems here is that the course is the property of the Army which makes the course off limits to foreign nationals. Still this is a great course with a ton of history behind it. Winston Churchill's used to live in a bungalow called "The Retreat" across from the 12th tee box (picture posted previously) when he was posted here as an army officer much before he became the Prime Minister of England.
