I use a tee off the tee box on every occasion except when I am not hitting the driver well, or on tight courses. In those rounds I hit my 3 wood off the deck(average 240 yards). For the life of me I cannot hit the 3 wood off a tee, and have tried on several occasions on the range. No tee, ball trajectory is awesome, with the tee it is a pop fly even when I push the tee all the way into the ground(average 180 yards). What gives?

Jay, then it's a mental thing, you are getting a clean lie with a tee no reason for it to go less than what it does off the deck.

That's really strange. I usually tee driver 1 3/4 inches above the ground, 3 wood 1 inch off the ground and hit both pretty solidly off the tee. Not sure why that's happening to you. I'd be interested to know why.

I tee all clubs but driver just off the ground on all tee shots. With that said if you are hitting the ball that far and good. why change it? don't change what works. Play your game your way. |
