Happened on the range yesterday. 5 years old and still in decent shape. I'd started looking at possible replacements. Karma I guess.

You could probably buy a replacement R9 for about 20% of the original price or waste your money on the latest Summer offering from TaylorMade (soon to replaced by the Fall version of the Summer version). The choice is yours.

I'm definitely not dropping $400 on a new driver. I'm shopping around. I'm considering a used G30 if I can find one with the right specs, in good shape, for $250 or less.

That's too bad. I really liked my R9 when I had it. You can't go wrong with a G30 and they have more than enough options to get you into the right setup.

I spent some more time hitting the latest and the greatest and I've decided to go with a Big Bertha Alpha 815 Double Black Diamond. I really like the launch angle and the avg spin rate. It seems to be very hot and it has a lot of adjustability. Look, feel and sound are good too. My local Golf Galaxy happens to have a 9 degree with an X-Stiff shaft, which is what I needed. With the current discount ($150 off) and a coupon ($50 off), it's a good deal.
