You're playing and you think everything is going fine. Then one thing goes wrong. And then another. And another. You try to fight back, but the harder you fight, the deeper you sink. Until you can't move... you can't breathe... because you're in over your head. Like quicksand.

Try throwing a 5 wood into a nearby creak. I hear the action alone does wonders for one's self control.

Are you talking about Tiger's game today? I think most of the late rounds today, Tiger just needs to go get some AARP and go home....... |

Are you talking about Tiger's game today? I think most of the late rounds today, Tiger just needs to go get some AARP and go home....... Apparently it's all mental. I have some buddies over there and they say he was shooting deep under par in his practice rounds. That first hole buried his confidence. |

My last round. Even par thru 2. Hole 3 is a reachable par 5. I hit a great tee shot. I hit a 3W on the second shot and hit exactly the shot I wanted. Started at the left bunker and cut back to the center of the green. Landed short (it plays downhill, I wanted to roll on) and was bouncing at the center of the green. The third bounce it kicked left 45 degrees and went into the bunker. I was out in one but the pin was next to the bunker and downhill. Stayed on the green but 3 putted. I was 25 over par for the final 16 holes.

Sounds like my game this week. Parred the first hole and since the players I paired with didn't show, I caught up to the threesome in front of me and ased if I could join. They said sure so I teed up since they already hit. Hit the ball a few yards short of the green but proceeded to take my putter and drain the 50ft putt for birdie... Now I'm thinking that this is gonna be a really good day when they all shouted, "Birdie shot!" and thust a bottle of Fireball at me. Now, I rarely drink anymore and have become the biggest lightweight there is, but since I joined them, I figured it would be rude to decline, so I took a belt.
I proceeded to double 3,5,6,7,and 8 and bogied 4 and 9. The back 9 was just as bad. Walked off the course with a 92. Damn peer pressure! |

You only need to hit one shot well in golf. The next one! Leave the past behind, let the future come when it will. Stay in the moment and breathe!!

That might be a little deep for most of us golfers to understand. If your thinking that much about the last bad shot....most of your next shots will be bad due to your thinking bad thoughts.! Let it go and just move onto the next...clear your mind!
