Off to Mauii this Friday and three rounds of golf next week. For COG, took your advice. I am golfing the Dunes twice and Kahili once. I found a club rental place called Jimmy's. He is matching my set of clubs except putter including driver, 3 wood, 3 and 4 hybrids, irons and wedges. Will be identical to mine except of course loft and lie. The putter will be a Taylor Made Ghost with the large grip like I have. $35.00 for first day and $25.00 per day after that. He delivers to my motel and picks them up when I am done. Much better than hauling mine over there and taking the chance of getting a broken club or two or three.

Just one other thing COG, Jimmy and the people at my hotel said to stay away from Maui Lani. Apparently it is under new management, has changed its name and is not in very good shape any more. I was sad about that.

Pappy I played Maui Lani last May and it was in very good shape and the staff very friendly. There was a course there named Elleair which changed names to Maui Nui. This course wasn't in perfect shape but for the price it was playable and fun to go around.

I think Joe is right. My parents are playing The Dunes on Wednesday as they're over there right now, and I know they'd have said something to me if The Dunes had changed its name. I'll see what they say 48 hours from now and let you know.

But I hope you have a great time and my advice pays off!

Maybe you can meet Robert Allenby for some cocktails. His treat!

Joe is correct it is Mau Nui that is in bad shape right now. And they did change the name to Eleair. There is some renovation going on apparently.

I played Elleair in 2011 and it's definitely the worst course I've played in Maui. Only course there where I can't say I really enjoyed being at quite honestly.
