Hi. Has anyone auditioned for the Big Break or knows a friend who has? I wonder what the process is? Curious...

I dont mean to burst your bubble....ONE of the first requirements is to be a "SCRATCH" handicap golfer...single digits doesn't count....

Unless your dad was a really good and famous golfer. If thats the case then you dont even have to know how to swing a club.

Okay, it is for ratings, so...

...virtually all the contestants are pros who play on the junior tours: Nationwide, Hooters, Futures, tours like that

...the few exceptions (and they are very few) must have some angle that is appealing to the producers. Be Raymond Floyd or Rudi Giuliani's son. Be a good golfer and the girlfriend, boyfriend of a qualified contestant in a Big Break with a 'couples' slant. Something like that.

All good feedback, thanks! I've applied last season didn't get a response, reapplied this season and got an audition. I'm a no body with no ties to any one famous haven't even done any tournaments yet. lol Totally surprised I got an audition!! But .... I''m curious about the process and how they select their contestants... Certainly will be interesting.. :)

I have met him on a couple of occassions and he is friends with some of my friends in Omaha...JR from the Big Break Disney. I don't think there is a big mystery to getting on that show.

Like most reality tv...
1) Good looks help
2) Some talent
3) A personality (if you are crazy that probably helps)

JR Reyes. The guy with tattoos on BB Disney. He got eliminated about half way through.

If you compare the women contestants from the original BB, to the ones from the most recent ones, it's apparent that the producers figured out looks matter for the girls.

I can't beleive that you have to be "Scratch." There are almost none of the Big Breakers that qualify as scratch. At least as I see them performing there is no way that they can be scratch with the crappy short games they have. None of the current Big Breakers could possibly be scratch players. Don't take this to mean that I think I can play better but comparing a "real" scratch player to the Big Breakers, "no way Jose."

It seems to be a mixed bag of talent and maybe "not so good talent". You have to wonder though how much editing may take place behind the scenes, if any. I think the current contest peeps on the Big Break are probably low handicappers but after all its a reality show. lol....

My fav girl: Mallory (she seems easy going Nina and the other girl Nicole?) They seem they would be typical "girls" petty.

My fav guy: undecided...

I enjoy watching and it seems like a great opportunity for those who cannot afford to chase their dream. Kudos too them!

:)

I have no grand disillusion of being chosen for the final show ... lol besides my goals are much more serious than being on a reality show... but it would be cool I would have to admit, but I'd probably be sent home on the first show! HA!!

Any suggestions on how to improve the show? I would love to pitch some ideas to the produces!

The point has pretty much been made already, but if it's around by the time I'm hopefully competing on mini tours, I'd hope I get the chance to play in it. This show and Survivor I really want to send applications in to see if I can get the experience.
