I don't get why the Golf Channel guys are so high on Furyk. His Ryder Cup record is a losing one: 9-17-4 I understand that he earned his way on the team, but based on his record, he's probably one of the guys Watson should bench in foursome & fourball.

He's actually been playing some great golf in the past year. He's moved up to #4 in world rankings. He's a complete choker, so that doesn't mean much, but I would actually put him out there over many of the guys who are really tailing off at the worst time. Walker and Reed have cooled off to ice cold; Bubba is manic; and I can't figure out Zack. I would team Furyk with Fowler and you may get a surprise.

I dig the American Flag shoes though... not as cool as mine but definitely solid shoes.

Furyk is one of the strong suits of the American team. Obviously the biggest of which is that according to the OWGR, he's the best American player right now. Which he probably is. He's had a great year, just hasn't been able to finish the job a couple times. I could be wrong, but I don't see a choke coming from him this week. Partly just because his loss to Sergio at Medinah was heartbreaking enough. Any more scar tissue and the guy might need to go into a mental institution.

He can pair easily with anyone, and by the looks of things in the practice rounds, we can expect to see him with Patrick Reed. Maybe Mahan and Johnson later in the week if things don't work out with Mr. Top 5. Second to Mickelson he has the most experience of anyone on the team and seems to be a good leader/motivator from my point of view. I think he'll have a good week and be one of our most reliable players this weekend.

For the record Mickelson's is 11-17-6...so only 2 less wins. The whole team looks like this by the way.

Considering that USA is 4-9-1 since 1985 it would only make sense that the older players on the team would have less than stellar records.
