Amazing how the PGA is over, and all the talk is still about Tiger. Last time I looked some guy named Phil put down 4 very good solid rounds and placed second behind Rory. I like Rory and happy he won but I was really hoping Phil or Rickie would. Phil has struggled this year but his game is back. Should he be on the Rider cup Team. You darn rights he should. Great team player, great for bucking up the team. Very strong foundation to build on.

Great point Dave. I was really rooting for the future of golf yesterday. I love Phil and would've really liked to see him win, and I was also rooting for Rickie to get on the map and create the much-needed rivalry of 2 young stars. He just isn't there yet because he needs the resume enhancement first. Promise is one thing, but he needs to seal the deal to make this legit. Jason Day is in the same boat. But I agree that the focus is ALWAYS on Tiger and America is ready to see the next chapter unfold. I don't think going back a chapter or 2 with Phil would get anyone upset either. :)

Phil apparently thought it was the US Open.

Just kidding...great charge I too was hoping Phil or Rickie would bring home the hardware.

LOL, that is funny. There is next year. Phil is such a big guy and strong player, and minus the injuries of someone else. I think he will be around for some time to come. I still think he will get his open and will get at least one more major and a few more PGA wins before he hits 50. He blanked this year, but I can't think of any player that hasn't had a blank year at his age or older. You would know that better than I do though LL.

Great finish yesterday. I would have been happy no matter which of the 3 won.

It was great fun to watch. The field of players is so deep, including the older guys. (there were several near the top, not just Phil). I really do not think Rory will dominate like Tiger did. I think the field of great players is just too deep. He sure will be great though. I think he could reach or break 10 majors.

More majors than Hogan? Hard to judge him fairly now when he is on a streak.

He had a "streak" two years ago, and one now. There was lots of turmoil in between. He is a smarter player. Look at what happened when he lost the lead at the Masters, and look what happened when he lost the lead last Sunday.

If he has a streak every other year, he'll get to 18.

Yes, more majors than Hogan.

To heck with Phil being paired with Tiger, put him with the kids who have the talent. To me it appears that Phil relishes a chance to compete with the Rory's, and Rickie's of the tour. Pair him with a type A personality at the Ryder Cup, like Kim in the past and Bradley in the present, he just feeds off that energy. That is Phil's fountain of youth.
