Warm Pacific moisture came in for the Spring Fling.

Some of these will carry over to the Mid West and the Central States. It is not unusual for the Spring weather but the volume and the short window the precipitation was not the usual pattern.

Stay out of the golf course during a thunder storm forecast.

Been getting a lot of rain in Denver lately, same systems that have been rolling through the Pacific Northwest. Seriously though, it's not worth it to be trying to play golf when there's lightning in the area.

Would you rather have snow?

I'm not complaining about the rain. I'm just saying there's been a lot of it. Snow is a completely different story.

RAIN, will the talk for the next century - the liquid gold.

We complain about the bountifulness now but we will need it more than the fossil fuel.

There are already prediction about severe water shortage in China and India in the next couple of decades. Parts of the North America will see water shortage also.

It's a potable water shortage, not a water shortage. It's not as if the water is leaving the planet. It's up to young bright minds like COG to discover newer, cheaper desalinization and filtration methods.

I'm glade you are so positive about the H2O supply.
So the water is not leaving the planet and where will it be ?
In the Ocean ? That does not do any good for irrigation and agriculture need, does it ?
Our current technology for filtration system could not even satisfied a city, let a lone a nation's need for potable water, agricultural need is many folds of that.

Why do you think the Chinese would not allow Tibet's bid for independence ? The mountain range controls the water supply to two major river into China and several rivers from the South side to India, Vietnam...

If you been to Hong Kogn/Kowloon or Singapore, you will understand how precious water is when your water supply is streamed in from across the border. Yes, they have to pay for the potable water they use. Some places flush the bathroom with sea water............

Perhaps my faith in the ingenuity of mankind is misplaced. I just have visions of solar/thermal powered facilities across the deserts pumping and converting sea water on massive scales. Is it a big dream? Of course. But look at the things that are now possible that weren't 20 years ago. Any viable plan would have to include good stewardship of all potable water and proper storage of removed contaminants.

As you said, our "current" methods are insufficient. Thus the need for COG and others of his generation to get off their collective backsides and make bold advances in something other than cellphones, computers, and expensive coffee.
