I've only played there a few times and not very recently. It's really a matter of personal preference, it's not like there are many goat trails in that area. Start with this link, there are about 70 courses listed and reduce by your price range.
http://www.myrtlebeachgolf.com../ Of these I've played Litchfield, Pawleys, MBN Kings North, Willbrook, no complaints about any of them. I've heard good things about Caledonia, Wild Wing, and Witch. Your bet bet is to pick 30 of them, play them all twice and see which one you like best... |

Not sure about $100 or less but two of my favorites the last time I played, few years ago, were Glen Dornoch and Tidewater. Both in the north part of the Grand Strand and very scenic courses.

The same two stand out for me also. Of those two I would definitely choose Tidewater but don't know the cost. Tidewater has much better views and is better kept than Glen Dornoch although neither is a slouch of a course. |

Up North Tidewater and any of the Cat courses. Not sure if your $100 will stand better make $150. Hey, your vacation spend the money!

I would go to Farmstead, True Blue or Caledonia but of the three I believe that Farmstead is the only one in that price range. Plus it has a par 6 that plays 767 yds from the tips.

Of those 3, only Farmstead is in North Myrtle. True Blue and Caledonia are south of Myrtle Beach altogether. They're in Pawley's Island. Love 'em but not what he was looking for. Caledonia is a top 3 favorite of mine. |
