Hey anyone from Brentwood #144, Ruth Park is having their annual club championship this weekend. It's a 36 hole stroke play tournament. Sat. and Sun. Oct. 19th and 20th.
Sat. 18 holes, choose your own playing partners, Sun. 18 holes will be flighted into Championship, A and B flights and a women's championship. Chilli and beer after the tournament, only $65 for golf and cart. Come on out and play. Registration by Friday evening. |

Well, Saturday was a chilly, windy day. Had a good turnout. I had a good front 9, with 1 birdie and 5 pars. Shot 37 on the front. The back nine didn't go as well. A few bogies and pars, three penalty strokes and I end up with a 43 on the back. I guess an 80 in cold tournament conditions really wasn't all that bad. Maybe I'll be in the middle of "A" flight and may achieve some modicum of glory. Some very good scores posted, 68 by Dave, 71 by Travis and 72 by his brother. And big George, basketball player 6'11", George shot 75. His wife shot 38 to lead the ladies who play 9 on Sat. and 18 on Sun.
Debbie tees off in an hour, me an hour later. Wish us luck!. Chili will warm us up after our round today! Beer too! |

Well, it didn't go as well as I had hoped. Shot "OK", not great. Still was good enough to place 2nd in "A" Flight. And the chili was good and hot after the round. This is a wonderful event. Too bad nobody from the Brentwood #144 club has any idea of what they just missed!
