I am looking to put a new driver in my bag. Does anyone use the Rocketballz stage 1 driver? Any suggestions would be welcome.

(Deep Breath).. where do I begin... first off, have you been fitted?? Do you know swing speed and shaft type?? What looks good to you??? Have you hit some yet?? Obviously, you got a pretty good game... why change drivers?? What are you looking for?? Low trajectory?? High trajectory???

No I haven't been fitted. I bought the stage 1 rocketballz irons about 4 months ago and was going to get fitted then. After playing a couple of rounds with them I decided not to get fitted. My club head speed is about 98. I like the driver I have now but it has played over 500 rounds and is starting to wear. I have a low ball flight and would like something with a higher loft and trajectory.

You said "stage 1". did you actually mean "stage 2"?
I don't think there ever was a "stage 1." I used to own the original RZB driver before the "stage 2" came out. I hit it well sometimes, but even with the stiff shaft, you must swing it with a moderate swing speed. Get quick with the hands and you will push-slice it all day. and the adjustments I didn't like either. If you try to de-loft it, it opens the face at the same time. I was always standing on the tee box trying to square or slightly close the face before my swing. I think there are many better drivers out there.

I have the RBZ driver and 5 wood. I LOVE the driver, I like the 5 wood. The ball just flies off the face with this thing. I highly recommend getting it.

Have to agree with CoG. I tried the RBZ driver (actually I think it was the "Tour" model)and was easily 15 yards longer with it but I just couldn't find a good match with a shaft and as a result my dispersion was all over the place, but definitely longer than my Titleist 910D2.

Thanks for the feedback Mongo! From the feedback I have received on here and the reviews I have read on the RBZ I think it is the best driver for my money at this time. I have done alot of research on the driver and its specs before making the purchase. It is hard to just pickup a new driver and hit fairways with confidence but I think Im going to give the RBZ a good ride!

Hogan's questions are needed steps. I too would like a new driver, what is stopping me is all of the steps that are in the process to select one. Guess on my part I would call it lazy.

I definitely agree with Hogan on the fitting part. I just have always use the clubs as they came stock from the factory. Can being fitted help out a great deal? Maybe help me be more comfortable over the ball and shave a couple of strokes off my round? I am willing to try it if so.

I haven't hit one myself (I can't get over the white paint job), but this year at the Byron Nelson pre-qualifier I was getting outdriven by 50 yards on every hole by a guy who played one...and I'm not exactly a short hitter. Not sure if it was the club, or the fact that he was much younger than me, but still. Made me shake my head a couple times.

I still beat him like a drum though. :-)

Im not a huge hitter myself! I just try to keep it in the fairway.

I have the RB Stage 2 driver & 3 Wood. I would encourage you to p/u the 3 wood, it's very long and forgiving. The driver is also very good, but the 3 wood is exceptional.

I don't know any really good players that game the RBZ other than one guy that has a tour van model, and it's not even close to your Golf Galaxy model. However, if you're a TaylorMade guy apparently the SLDR is unreal. Something stupid like 34 of 48 drivers they had in the field switched right away to it from whatever TM driver they were playing at the time. That's remarkable.
