After commenting on a topic in a forum you are forever notified of every single comment afterwards. It would be great if you could opt out of the notifications at some point. Sometimes the topic goes on far longer than you really care. I've found myself sometimes not commenting due to the fact I don't want to be notified afterwards.

I just turned off all alerts. I didn't like 20 emails in a day.

I just turned off all alerts. I didn't like 20 emails in a day. I prefer to have it turned off as well but mine just stopped sending notifications all together even though it says it's ON and my email address is correct. |

Are you talking about emails or just the notification on the sidebar?

I'm referring to emailing notifications mainly, but the thought would apply to notifications in general.
