This is why I think they lost. No Williams, Manningham, Hunter and Haralson. Guys that got hurt. Not having these guys was big trouble. Missing the 2 WR took so much away from who the other team had to cover. Hunter would have been in there and maybe he would not had fumbled the ball. Crabtree is great Moss is still ok but after that at WR there was nothing. Davis is great but he is a TE and without good WR it's to easy to take him away from the passing game. I think some of the guys on D could have used more time off in the games and that is why Haralson loss was so big. Yes there is next year and the 49ers can get back there again. I'm done crying for now. Not!!!! I'm going to cry until next year starts.

Yall will be back, you have a fairly young team. Steve Harvey said the lights went out so that the "Old" men on the Ravens could take a nap! HA HA.

I think it is much simplier than that. They lost because the Ravens played better than the 49ers. In the end the difference wasn't large, but it was there.

Turnovers are always big in these games. The Ravens won that battle. The Ravens only got flagged once--all game. More dropped passes by the 49er receivers. Special teams? The Ravens way outplayed the 49ers.

There should have been more flags then that on the Ravens. even the punt the was holding, no flag, The Ravens won because their WR made plays, I just think that if 49ers had more then 1 WR to make plays then they would not have come up short.

Guys, it's even simpler than that. The last series, we were 1st and goal from the 5 yard line. One run play and 3 pass plays.

If you still have the game or have not erased your memory bank yet. We did not run our JUMBO package at all and that would have been the time to do so. The Ravens completely sold out on that stand, because that would have determined the game, and it did.
I would feel much better had we POUNDED those lost 5 yards because the game was gonna be claim there. And it was.

One last thing, to many FGs ..... Good game, despite our loss .....

My philosophy, only one group of fans are happy at the end of the season. I just hope that it is mine.

Until the Sunday after Labor Day comes around, I'm not going to be able to get over what happened. I cannot wait for Baltimore to come back here next year. Revenge will be had.

If you're blaming 49ers injuries for the loss, you should mention that the Ravens' injuries this year were worse. They lost Ladarius Webb (one of the league's top 5 corners) early in the year and although Terrell Suggs is back, he is a shell of himself as he is clearly still not even close to 100%. Teams have injuries, it happens. 49ers lost because they couldn't move seven yards in four plays (or three for that matter). A guy like Manningham helps there, but having a guy like Webb back on the Ravens side tips the balance back in the Ravens' favor.

I'm not a Ravens fan. This was the 1st game they played that watched all year. Yes injuries are part of the game. Yes they lost because they had 3 plays to go 5 yards and got nothing. Just can not help but to think what the 49ers could have done with Manningham, Williams, and Hunter on the field. The Ravens one Guy (Webb) could not all 3 over those guys at one time.

Again, if you're going to think that way, you have to think about what the Ravens would've done if fully healthy. And you can't think of it in terms of "Well Webb can't cover three guys." It's about value, how much does a player being fully healthy help the team? There is no question that the combination of Webb and Suggs is much more valuable to a team than Manningham (who's an OK receiver and really only famous for one catch), Williams (who I'm not even sure had 10 catches this year), and Hunter (who I like and think is a solid back, but is still the back-up). So having those two guys basically out of commission (yes, Suggs played in the SB, but he is a shell of himself as he's still not nearly 100%), is a much bigger blow than losing those three guys. I will give the 49ers this though, Justin Smith has been mightily struggling with a triceps injury and wasn't nearly 100% in the SB. I think that has been and was a much bigger injury for the 49ers than any of the three you mentioned.

Agree with that 100%. The Ravens in those final few regular season games were just belittled with injuries. When they got healthy those last couple weeks entering the playoffs, they were surely better off especially with that Lewis guy coming back. Again though, so much of any sport boils down to who is injured the least. I mean injury in sports is a fact. If anyone can find an instance when a team in the NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL was 100% healthy from start to finish, I'll laugh at you and say you're dead wrong. If you don't want injury to ruin your team, then get better backups. Apparently the 49ers didn't do that outside of QB.

I think the three guys they needed on the field were Montana, Rice, and Craig
