I really enjoy watching "The Ryder Cup." I see a group of professionals displaying their craft in awesome style; and doing so for something far greater than a 1st Place prize purse. . . . . .

We get an opportunity to see these golfers play for the marrow of any sport -- superior competition. The true prize.

Exactly why this is so much fun to watch. They get more pumped up too in this event than any other, adding to it. It's too bad it only happens every other year and it's only 3 days instead of 4.

Ah, but as you will discover, the 3 day format every other year is part of what keeps it special.

Yes, just enough to keep us on the edge of our seat without overdoing it. Great competition and worth waiting for!!

Day 3 is definately the special day. Back to what the sport is about. Individualism. You can clearly see some of the players just don't do well in the Four Ball and Foursomes. Day 3 will be a joy to watch.

Now we got to wait 2 years to get this bad taste out of our mouths.

Might take me longer than 2 years, even if the US does win in Scotland somehow.

Ditto. Just leave Tiger & Stricker off the team.

Mark my words, if Stricker is playing well in two years, and anywhere between 9 and 15, he will be a captains pick again for Tiger. DL 3 putting Tiger on the bench did not sit well in Tiger's mind.

Agree. Even if he is world number 1 he doesn't bring anything to the Ryder Cup and you could hear the announcers allude to it during the broadcast. Tiger is independent so his game/his personality etc is not conducive to a team sport.....hell why do you think he plays golf? Stricker is old, Furyk is old and Tiger is Tiger, let them sit for the next Ryder Cup, I bet our chances of winning increase. Oh and pick a Capt who knows what the heck he is doing.

It's no coincidence the Americans won in 2008 without Woods. Had he played, he would have replaced Boo Weekley and he would not have played. And I'd put thousands of dollars down that if Tiger played and Boo didn't in that, Europe would have won that too.

There are two myths that were really dispelled with this Ryder Cup. The first is the phrase "they are not as deep as the USA squad". Obviously the Euro's are as they are pretty consistant in winning this thing. The second is the fact that the Europeans cannot play on American courses. Well it seems they can win on a US Open type setup and now on a birdie fest one to boot. As they are basically based in the US anymore the PGA of America and any future captain need to come up with a better formula to win this cup more then once a decade. Since the USA team members rarely go across the pond to play in Europe, they will always be at a distinct disadvantage across the pond.

It would appear, that there is more parody in the game of golf at the PGA professional level. More than the media would have you believe.

In spite of the fnal outcome I thought that the majority of them played with purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot same the same thing for Tiger & Stricker. I'm sure we all have an opinion about who DL 3 should've chosen with his Capt picks. Hard to do anything if a guy plays his way onto the team.

Hopefully, two years down the road will produce a different outcome. Maybe Van Pelt will play himself on the team..

I'd hate to think that this was Tiger's last Ryder Cup, but if it's not I sure hope his next one is at least equal to this one --- I'd hate to see him do worse.

Jay, as far as I am concerned he really needs to avoid the Ryder Cup. He is a great individual player but the Ryder Cup is a team event and he sucks at team play (just look at his record.) The reporters asked Tiger a few times why he conceded the putt to Molinari for a halve when a win would have made a 14/14 score almost like a draw and it would have sat well with the other 60,000 fans that were watching behind the ropes. My question would have been if you can't sink an uphill four foot putt for a win on 18 at the Ryder Cup should you really be there? His response to the reporter was the cup was already won. Thanks Tiger for all your hard work............I almost fell out of my chair when he missed that four footer.

Frank:
I tried very hard not to say exactly what you stated. In my opinion he has never really displayed his indiviual abilities in a "team format." As we all know: "there's no I in T E A M. I personally believe that his entire motivation for the game was his dad's ability to live vicariously through him.

He's got a lot of "looking at the man in the mirror" to do. Hopefully he'll see a person that can still contribute to the game -- even if it means taking a "road less traveled." There are many routes to a destination, and one's behavior must always correspond with their stated desires to reach it. . . . . .

Now you have me confused, do you agree with me but wanted to state it more PC or do you not agree with me. I think you agree with me.

Fully AGREE with you but wanted to be P C as you stated.
