So, this Saturday the wife and I play one of our favorite courses, Lockhaven CC in Alton, IL. Great old style course on the bluffs above the Mississippi River. But, I digress.
I have been hitting my 07 Burner and generally play from the fairway. Well, I brought with me a Superfast 2.0 R shaft today. I hit fairly straight and in the 230-255 yd range. Today I hit the Superfast about 10-15 yards longer but with a bit of fade and 1 or 2 slices. If I really went after the ball, I sliced even more. This club needs a smooth swing and it rockets off of the face.
Has anyone had similar experience with this club? Any advice in maybe set up or ball position with the Superfast? Thanks Geno.

The shaft may be too soft for your swing. That would leave the face open at impact and the harder you swing the more it opens up. There is no industry standard for shaft stiffness so the shaft may frequency out at an A flex or M flex by another companies standard.

If you do not want to replace the shaft then you could just compensate by moving the ball further forward in your stance. This would give the club a little more time to rebound and square up at impact.

Thanks. Today I still hit the ball with a slight slice, but long, long, long. It was an easy course, so no real damage. But, I'll try moving the ball a bit forward in my stance and swing within myself. I'll let ya know how it works out. G.

On Saturday I played Normandie Golf Course, the oldest course west of the Mississippi. A great old course layout with a lot of long holes and some short ones.
The Superfast 2.0 did a great job of getting me into good position in the fairway. Like #9 a 417 yard par 4 with an uphill tee shot. I was left with only a 5 iron in from the right side of the fairway. And on #10, a difficult 443 yard par 4 with a creek fronting the green. I was on in two, although it was driver, three wood to make it there. But it was the first time that I made it there in two. So, I am happy with this club and will be working with it to help me lower my handicap and make me smile a bit more often!
