Boy do I miss Paul Azinger on the microphone calling golf. I think he is one of the best in my humble opinion. Mike Tirico is doing a great job too. That just my two cents.

With the exception of Bill Kratzert, everyone with ESPN is great. I wish they did more tournaments than this week and the early rounds at the US Open. They kick the snot out of NBC, very close behind CBS as far as best golf network.

Tirico's really good. Zinger is the biggest Tiger suck-up on the planet. Tom Weiskopf is an excellent analyist.

Zinger is the biggest Tiger suck-up on the planet. I read that and I literally screamed Charlie Rymer at the top of my lungs. |

He may overdo Tiger but he is a jolly southerner and overall good guy. Besides he works for that channel that basically is apologetic and gives you 24/7 of a former number 1 player. Zinger will always get a pass from me just by his overcoming his illness and captaining a winning Ryder Cup team. |

The fact that no one has mentioned Peter Allis yet is a crime.

The ESPN team was great today. Tirico, Azinger and Strange are all very good. I think Van Pelt is awesome, he's pretty funny, easy going and smart. ESPN puts together a good golf team for the Open Championship (especially because Chris Berman isn't there). I still like NBC the best though. You are spot on about Van Pelt and everything on ESPN would be better if Berman were on a permanent vacation. His act is so played out. |

The fact that no one has mentioned Peter Allis yet is a crime. No need to mention him. It's universally understood he's the best. Don't miss him on Feherty Monday. |

Zinger sucks ... he repeats himself more than any of the main golf announcers, and you can tell why he didn't win more majors just listening to him. He's less confident than me. I don't know what Curtis Strange did to get booted from that spot, but it's too bad because he's twice the analyst.
Tirico is awesome. In fact, he's so good that I wish they'd take the mic away from the tool they've got in there who calls so much of it and let Tirico do all the main play-by-play. |

I don't know what Curtis Strange did to get booted from that spot, but it's too bad because he's twice the analyst. "This is one of the most stupid things I've ever seen in my life, I've gotta be honest with you." ~ Curtis Strange on the 72nd hole of Jean van de Velde in the 1999 Open. |

I found Van Pelt to be totally annoying... he seemed to call it like it was a basketball game or something... something was just sort of "off" about his terminology as well, like he doesn't know the game all that well. I am not recalling specifics at the moment, but I could have easily done with less chatter from him and more insights from the former players. |
