How do you guys feel about the Stack and Tilt method? Had knee surgery and just got back playing after many months off rehabing on my torque (Primary) knee.

Have lost lots of distance off of the tee and with my short irons. Short game keeps in the mid-80's but always scrambling.

After watching me hit a ball, a golf pro at my club recommended this method. He thought having more weight over my front leg (knee) would help my swing and gain some distance.

Like to hear what you all have to say. Thanks for your time.

Forget what the pros are doing, just try it and see if it helps.

I had surgery on the left medial meniscus. After rehab, it hurt to transfer weight up to the front foot and brace. Especially with a lot of hard full swings. I changed to a more open stance, with a more open left toe. I don't stack and tilt, but it is a lot easier on the left knee. I hit a baby fade and it has become a very good consistent shot.

It's just my opinion of course.

S&T is for those whom could not execute weight transfer on a full swing either by health reason or issue between the ears.

If anyone wish to use this method just because thinking it's easier and see results faster...... you will pay the price since it's a band-aid and not a cure.

It took me countless hours and years to develop a swing which I could count on and not hurting any part of my body when I swing the golf club with full throttle.

There is no short cut.

I did the S&T for a season and at first, I really liked it. Still have my best round ever using it. But as stated before, it's more of a band-aid, and with most band-aids, eventually, they cause more harm than good. With me, I went the winter without swinging a club and when the season started back up, every shot was pushing to the right. Turns out, I could no longer rotate my hips around with my weight on my left foot, which I was told was a common happenstance with those who use the method.

Thanks for all the feedback. All you guys were very helpful! I am slowly recovering from the knee surgery and continuing to strengthen the knee. I tore two meniscuses and my MCL. I have worked hard on my swing over the years and I need to be patient as I try and torque off of my repaired knee.

Don Freeman, thanks for sharing your adjustments after knee surgery. I will give it a try rather than the S&T method.

It is interesting that you don't hear much about the stack and tilt anymore. If history shows us anything...there are many ways to swing a golf club.
