At first I thought it was very useful around the greens. But, I just started using the SW with 12 degrees of bounce in it's place. I am considering taking the LW out of the bag. What would I replace it with? Not sure, maybe a diff 3 hybrid that fits me (that I completely took out of the bag, because I had one that didn't fit me for what I want), and maybe a 2 hybrid or a 5 wood. What do you guys think? Is it helpful for you for any shots?

I prefer to keep mine in the bag so that I have 4 wedges. I am an above average hitter when it comes to distance so I just keep my driver and 3w. I dont like hybrids because I hit the ball too high so I just plaw with my 3-9i.

I've had a 60-degree wedge in my bag for about 16 years and have no desire to take it out. I use it almost as much as any other club, probably less than my putter but even more than my driver. I don't try hitting it off hardpan or super firm, tight lies ... not anymore, unless the situation forces it. But off everything else, it's the club I use most often from 100 yards in to about 10 yards.

The lob wedge is one of my favorite clubs. I'm dangerous with that sucker. It's unconventional, but rather than chipping with a mid or short iron around the greens I use my 60 degree and am pretty damn good at it. Can hit a flop or a bump and run easily with it, so in almost any short game situation I can use it. I do the same with my 56 degree and also my P wedge minus the flop shot.

I kept a lob wedge in my bag since April but it's been officially removed. I probably used it 10 times all year and when I did I rarely hit it well. It's been replaced with a 15* hybrid to go along with the 19 and 23* hybrids.

I think it depends a lot on the player. One of the big advantages with the lob wedge is it gives you superior ability to back up the ball. But if you haven't learned how to back up the ball with a lob wedge, this major feature doesn't do you any good.

I use my 56 from 80 yds. and in but it is the go to club around the greens. Mine is a Vokey. I use a pitching wedge, a 52 and a 56.

I took out my 60 and put in a 7 wood. For me I want to use only 2 clubs around the green, PW if there is a lot of green to work with and my 52 if there is not much green to work with. Next year I may use my 56 and not the 52. I want the same clubs so I get the feel of them better.

I play with 4 wedges P, 52, 56, 60.....I do not carry a driver and play 3 wood off the tee. That is why I carry the 4 wedges and they are all useful in my bag!

I have a 60* "US Open" LW that I bought at Edwin Watts about 15 years ago for $25 and I love it for bunker shots to short-side pins, and some other shots around the green. The head is big, and heavy as hell. I hit it about 75 yds with a full swing, but never use it for that purpose, or any shot longer than 25 yds. Too inconsistent.

My wedges are as follows 47, 50, 54, 58 degrees. My lob wedge is bent to 58 degrees, priomarily because Titleist stopped making 58 degree wedges.

I use the 58 degree club as much if not more than any club in my bag. I prefer to chip with it because I like to deloft my chips with my hands forward and the ball off my right ankle.

I use it for flop shots which I only hit when I have to.

And finally if I need a 100 yard shot to come in vertical I take a full swing.

I only use the 58 in the sand if the sand it hard, I would much prefer to use my 54 degree sand wedge out of soft to medium bunkers because of the added bounce.

The problem with LW for me is that most of them aren't made with enough bounce. I have a 58 degree and a 60 degree...usually the 58 degree is in the bag, but both have 8 degrees of bounce. Do NOT get anything less than 8 degrees unless you are playing perfectly manicured, PGA Tour-style courses every day. Bounce is your friend!

See, I do everything with my 56 SW. I kinda got used to being able to doing all of that with the 56 and using a 52 for long chips/low pitch shots. I use the 56 almost everywhere inside the 100, minus the putting.

That's the only reason I would keep it in my bag. Is those bunker shots that are anywhere from 5 to 10 yards. But, I can just pitch it out by opening my 56 degree for that too. Only difference is I won't get the spin I would like, which I can live with.

Exact same wedges for me, too. Except, I do carry a driver. I carry Driver, 3W, 4I, 5I, 6I, 7I, 8I, 9I, P, 52, 56, 60 & putter which leaves me with a option for a 3 Hybrid or whatever. Distance is not my problem, its just getting a hybrid that I can hit with a higher flight than the one I have been using. I've been using a Adam's that has a piercing flight, and I don't want that for that club.
