Hello Members; the 2012 season is now in full swing and our fourth season is off to a great start. We had our first 2 Club sponsored tournament events already and both went very well. Fun competitive rounds; with great weather and better people. Our next Club Sponsored Tournament will be our Club Championship in September at Witonbury Hills. Don't worry I will send many reminders on that. Also coming up is the fundraiser for Ed Slubowski's family on July 12th; please do your best to get a foursome in for this; remember it is open to all; not just CT Hacker members; we are up to about 100 players for this event!!!!!.

We finished our 3rd week of play in our Middlefield Tuesday night league last night. (Thats right; 3rd week; we had many rainouts!!!) What a great time; we have an awesome group of players and what a great way to break up the week and unwind. Hopefully next season we can get more players for our Fairfield league and get that going; and our goal is to eventually also have a Shoreline league so all our members can enjoy this great feature of our club.

The key is to get more quality members; we will be strongly trying to recruit new members this season; please help with this and let everyone you know who may be interested about our club. The more members we have the more leverage I have to plan quality; affordable events; fun events and local discounts for our members. Also we would have more players to start mid week leagues in other parts of the state......Some selling points of our licensed USGA Type 2 (Private) Golf Club is >>>> Play and maintain an Official USGA Handicap / Our website (because of how I have you post scores with your score; # of puts and fairways hit or missed) keeps your statistics and has reports to let you see trends in your game to help you improve. And you can have fun comparing your stats with other club members / We have Club Sponsored Member Tournaments and Fun Events / Mid week organized competitive player leagues / We are Golf Course Independent / Local Discounts for members ( Work in progress) and don't forget meeting new friends and playing partners in your area....Thanks for your help with this....

A bit of housekeeping; and our current member base is pretty good with this; but be sure you are posting ALL of your competitive rounds; especially the club sposored events and Men's league scores promptly with Correct date. Also if it was a tournament make sure you check the tournament box. If you play a round with another member of CT Hackers make sure you check that box and post all scores in accordance with our BYLAWS; score hole-by-hole; # of puts; fairways hit or missed and driving distance (For driving distance just enter your 2 best drives of the round. This is very important in case we are USGA reviewed; your stats are kept and you and your peers can see trends in your game; Our handicap committee can see trends in your game etc...etc... Thanks for your help with this and helping me keep the integrety of the USGA handicap system.

Thats all I have for now; stay tuned and watch for reminders for our upcoming tournaments and fun events. Also remember you must play in ONE Club Sponsored Tournament Event a season and we only have one left in September at Witonbury Hills....So if you didn't play the event this season at Blackledge or the one at Fairchild Wheeler you must play the Club Championship @ Witonbury to meet your USGA requirement and remain a CT Hacker Club member......Even if you did play in the first 2 we hope to see you at Witonbury; this is a great venue and should be an awesome time.

Have a great day; thanks for helping us be one of the most active clubs on the Stracka website and hope to see you all soon!!!!
