A question for you all... I, like many of us I presume, often play match play matches with my friends, for me I'd say it's around 50% of my rounds played. Just curious how you feel about the effect on your handicap.
I know that I play match play golf quite differently than I would stroke play, yet even in a match, I keep a proper stroke score so that I can input scores for my handicap. I wonder how this changes things... maybe I shouldn't input scores played in match format, I don't know. I do know that my gross scores would often be drastically different if I weren't pressing to take advantage of a certain situation, or pressing to pick up a hole later in the round. Curious about your thoughts! |

I play match play a lot more aggressively then i do stroke play. That can lead to some blow up holes that i very rarely have while playing stroke play.

ESC will take care of the blow up holes. Seems to me that if 50% of your rounds are match play fairness dictates that you'd want those rounds in your handicap. Otherwise in a match your handicap won't be a fair indicator of how you play.

Agreed... i am in the habit of putting in every single round that I play.... when i get this thing down to a single digit I want to be sure i can believe it. sometimes i wonder if i'm the only one! |
