Congratulations to the kid. He made me eat my words today. Good day for golf to finally see the kid break through. This should boost the confidence in a young mind.
A very memorable win for him in a playoff against another kid that is suppose to be the next boy wonder of golf. |

I think this'll be very similar to David Duval and how he first won. Recall that it took him a while to get his 1st win, once he did the floodgates burst open. I think Fowler is going to win at least once more this year (maybe the British Open honestly) and get on the right track to having a very good career. Speaking of Duval, I think Fowler's career will be similar minus the 10 year "what the hell happened to him" period. Duval won a major, was ranked #1 in the world, won a Players, 11 other wins, 4 major finishes at either 2nd or 3rd place, that's kinda what I see from Rickie.

Since everyone wants to use numbers (14 majors) to evaluate people. Currently Rory #1 - Rickey Fowler #24 (WGR's). Kentucky Wildcats finished #1, Xavier finished #24 this year and had a great run in the tourny therefore Xavier was just as good as Kentucky in 2012! Bull shit! Again! lol |

Since everyone wants to use numbers (14 majors) to evaluate people. Currently Rory #1 - Rickey Fowler #24 (WGR's). Kentucky Wildcats finished #1, Xavier finished #24 this year and had a great run in the tourny therefore Xavier was just as good as Kentucky in 2012! Bull shit! Again! lol Buck's right. I'll throw this in there too. C Squared brought up Rory's tee shot with the 3 wood in the playoff. He outdrove Rickie and D.A by like 20 and 30 yards respectively with 3 wood when they went with driver. On the PGA Tour, that is @#$%ING INSANE!!! Rory also hit a drive on Saturday then went 380 yards with the driver, and was straighter than an arrow. They're both 23 years old now. McIlroy won a US Open by 8 shots, and has 3 other major finishes in the Top 3, plus a major where he led after the 54 hole mark. Fowler on the other hand, his best major finish is T5, his 2nd best is T14 with no other Top 25 finishes. Rickie will have a very solid career, I don't expect Rickie to get within half of what Rory does. |

As far as who's the better player? I would have to vote for Rory, and not because he has a major. I think Rory will have a more steady career because I think his swing is less dependant on timing. I like both players but I think Rory's career will be slightly better. |
