If you Google map Augusta National and click the aerial view it looks nice but if you zoom in all the way the aerial photo changes and you see what it really looks like most of the year while getting ready for the masters.

I have heard the surrounding areas are not too attractive.

They'll be closing the course at the end of the month for the summer, which is when they make the major changes to the course. Come mid-October when they open again, no one will ever know the diffrence.

Summer times in Georgia are rough! 100 plus temps daily. usually reaching the 110 mark (I know you got it in hot box AZ also). We have been in a severe drought status for the past 5 years. With that status they put strict watering restrictions on us every summer. Course's around here get real hard, dried out, and brown in certain area's. Plus the native land here is red clay. It seems the only thing that prospers in that stuff is peanuts and cotton. I'm sure they probably have thier own water supply, and dirt brought in from somewhere els but the heat alone is stressful as hell on the grass and plants.
