Getting a 1 hybrid (15*)

Thinking about buying a 15* hybrid. I took my 3 wood out of the bag a long time ago. I love my 18* degree hybrid. I hit it about 255 off of the tee, and about 235 off the turf. I find it more useful than a wood, which is why i'm thinking of getting a 15*

Has anyone else gone this route? If so what are your thoughts.

I use a 2 hybrid (16*) in place of my 3 wood. It got so I really couldn't hit the 3 wood, then this year when I learned to make decent contact with it, I could only pull about 210 with it, and there were no guarantees I wouldn't slice with it, so my 2 hybrid went back in the bag. I just seem to get more torque with it, and it's easier to hit, and I get about 215-225, so for me it's a no brainer.

I just put my 15* hybrid up for sale on Ebay. For the price you really can't go wrong. Here's the link

I had no problem with it but recently got fitted for new clubs from my putter through driver and decided to go with all new equipment.

You can have my 14-degree 1 hybrid for the cost to ship it to you. I want to slay it, but you might can do something with it.

I hit 3i-LW, so this isn't really about irons, unless you think I should play a 2 iron instead of my 18* hybrid which I hit amazingly well. I hit it so well, I'm considering getting the 15* I might have to take a wedge or the 3i out to add the hyb so that is the main consideration.

I think your wasting your money & club selection on getting a 15* hybrid....I TOO had thought about getting a matching Cleveland Mashie since I already have the 18* Cleveland Mashie which I'm having great success with the club.

I don't think your going to get much more distance without sacrificing some accuracy. A 15* is almost like hitting a ONE Iron. I have a driving IRON but I have the Cleveland Launcher 18* in the bag for more versatility in my travel set.

I think your better off carrying an extra wedge vs having the 15* hybrid.

Do you think hitting a 15* hyb is going to be harder than a 3 wood? That is my question. I want something that gives me almost the distance of a 3 wood but with more accuracy. I hit my 18* VERY straight, and trust it much more than any 3 wood I have owed, plus I hit it out of rough, which I rarely do with a 3 wood.

Robert, what is it? Did you built it custom? Why don't you like it?

It's a Nickent 4X with a stiff graphite shaft. There's nothing custom about it.

I can't hit it. I also haven't worked much with it, so I'm sure it's me and not the club, but in general, I've never liked hybrids. So that's why I don't like it. It's kind of frustrating, too, because it looks great at setup. I really feel confident over the ball with it, then swing and ... total suckage.

It took me about 3-4 months to get use to my hybrid, but now I love it. I took the 3 wood out, and use the 18* hyb when I don't use my driver. I won a two day golf tournament in Texas last year mainly because of that club. I shot a 70 the second day, and only hit my driver off of the tee 3 times that day. I would suggest putting the time in, you might really like it after a while.
