I have a few spots available for a golf league that begins May 15th and will end in late September. The league is played in Fairfield, CT @ D. Fairchild Wheeler. They have two 18 hole courses which gives the league four separate 9 hole courses to play. Tee times are between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm.

Here is how our league operates. It's similar to the FedEx cup points system in that each week your score is compared to the other scores of the week and you are given points based on your placement. The score is tallied for every week of play. The end result and champion will be the player who has the most points at the end of the season. Here is an example of the scoring....

If we have 8 players that play in the league that means 8 points are up for grab. Below is a list of NET scores and what the point totals would look like for the given week. Remember, the score is based on your NET score, which means after your handicap has been applied.

Player 1 - 38 - 8 points
Player 2 - 39 - 7 points
Player 3 - 39 - 7 points
Player 4 - 40 - 5 points
Player 5 - 42 - 4 points
Player 6 - 42 - 4 points
Player 7 - 45 - 2 points
Player 8 - 50 - 1 points

During the season we play a few "fun" weeks. During these weeks, players who need to make up a round due to being out during one of the scoring weeks will play a normal round, which will be applied to the missing week. All other players will play a fun non-scoring round. Once the missing round has been made up, the points are recalculated.

Each week I'll bring an updated scoring sheet, which will show the total points of every player, plus the previous weeks score and point totals.

Last year was the first year we used this approach and it was highly successful. The cost of the league is $40, which is used for trophies/prizes and end of the year dinner. Your other cost will be greens fees.
