What are the best sunglasses for golf? Do you even wear sunglasses while you play? In Texas It's a must during sunny bright days. I was thinking of getting a pair of Oakleys Flak G30 Polarized.

I will not pay a lot for a pair of sunglasses, they get lost all the time with me. $10 to $15 is all I will pay. Yes I do use them when golfing. I keep them on 90% of the time if the sun is out. No sun, no glasses, not there to look cool.

I play with sunglasses, It's a must here also early mornings and late afternoons since the course I play most often has ALOT of holes that are set up East to West and West to East. I won't spend no more than $20 on them though. I lose, scratch or sit on them too much for me to invest any good amount of money. $20 gas station sunglasses are fine for me.

Have Oakley Flak Jacket w/polarized lenses. Great lenses for eye protection (top priority), fishing, golf.

Anything is good as long as you protect your eyes from the UV Rays while out golfing.

I almost always play with sunglasses on. I do have a pair of Oakleys and have been using them lately but I liked the cheap pairs (now lost) better.
And yes, go with polarized lens there is truly a difference.

I used to play w/ sunglasses a lot, oakley fuel cell and hijinx. i usually just wear my reg light prescription glasses now, helps me see distance, and green contours better. if you do get some def make sure they are polarized. guess it all depends on preference & personality. if you know u have a tendency to loose glasses, don't spend more than $50

I wear them all the time for golf and baseball. I like the amber lens that are polarized. Brand doesn't matter to me ,but the amber color seems to give me a crisper view when outside.

I'm a bit of a sunglasses addict... For golf, I like the g30 transitions lenses in Oakleys, but my current favorite golf pair are Rudy Project Rydons with their golf-specific lens. (they're a little pricey, though). Also, I've found that polarized lenses are not ideal for golf because the polarization relies on both lenses being level, and with any tilting of the head, colors and light are filtered differently, which I find distracting on a golf course... Just my $.02...

My favorite pair: prescription Oakleys with the golf specific lense. I unfortunately lost them.

My thoughts on golf sunglasses....specifically prescription sunglasses: There are certain things I like to see without a tint and one of those things is the break of a putt. Now this is not an issue if the glasses are not prescription because you could just take them off.

I went to contacts last year and it was fantastic until I started to get eye infections, because apparently my eyes are too dry to support wearing contacts!!!

there are better contacts on the market for that and there is also a prescription eye drop specifically for extra dry eyes. Contact your optomerist i'm sure they can find the right ones for you. Acuvue2 Oaysis with hydroclear are what i use and recommend.
the infection could have been the solution, may need an enzyme cleaner.
Of course, that's if you want to go back to contacts. I've been wearing them for nearly 20yrs so there's no way I'd ever go back. And I have had dry eye, stracthed lens, chemical burn and infection; it all sucked but still wear contacts.

So I don't lose my sunglasses I use flip up baseball eyewear. Easy to remove if needed and adjustable but most importantly they are always where I need them which is on me. They give great eye protection and aren't real expensive. I have had the same pair for the last 5 years.

I have never been a fan of sunglasses. Hate how much darker things get; I have to look at things in their natural light. I wear a hat every time I golf and a lot of times when I go out, haven't worn sunglasses in 5 years I bet.

Just got a pair of Tifosi golf sunglasses. They come with 3 interchangeable lenses that you can switch dependent on conditions. Price is < $70. I need to wear sunglasses when I play. Need to save my eyeballs!!

I used to wear sunglasses all the time out on the course...normally the $10-$15 kind and liked doing so knowing I was protecting my eyes. But I got some really thick (not bushy, yet) eyebrows, and if the weather gets over 75 degrees, they're normally the first thing on my face that starts to sweat, which would immediately get on my sunglasses and streak down to the bottom. I always carried those wet-nap eyeglass cleaners in my bag, but it got to the point that I was cleaning them every 3rd shot and got to be too much of a pain.

I have several pairs of Oakleys, the Radar Range and the Half Jacket. Funny thing is I wear them on the course but remove them when I hit all my shots including putting.

Dudes (and dudettes),

Davy is asking for some help. Lot of posts say what they like, but now why. I'm pretty particular about sunglasses having found some affect my depth perception standing over the ball, or adversely affect my ability to read the green or precisely judge distances on a putt. Thus I'd love to hear *why* you've chosen the sunglasses you use.
