I am thinking about getting a hybrid. I have hit a few at Dick's Sporting Goods, but I wanted to see what others thought about different brands. The Rocketballz has gotten a lot of publicity. There are lots of different brands though, and with all of the new equipment coming out I wanted to see what everyone else has hit, or liked, hybrid wise. Any pros and cons would be helpful. Thanks,

I have a Nike SQ from 2009 and I love it. If there's 1 club I need to hit solid, I have more faith in that than I do with any other club. It has more of a look of a 3 wood or driver which I like about it, not the small, round head you see from most hybrids. http://images.channeladvisor.c..

Golfsmith has the new Nike SQ in the style you have for $60 right now. It got five stars on the reviews. Thanks, because I had not considered a Nike hybrid. I am thinking about their method putter though. |

Hell. Yeah Dandy, I traded in my blades last year. Now I'm trading in the 3 iron. Pretty soon I'll have a full bag of woods. I tried to fight it - finally gave in. |

3 & 4 Callaway. Love them. Love the ball flight and can still work them. I used to use Blades. Got tired of them. Comes a time where you want less demand on the game. Using cavity backs again and can work them nearly as well and a lot less work. As a PGA Instructor friend of mine said, to most amateurs blades are an ego and status thing. When you become a good ball striker, you can hit any club. I am preferring to hit an easier club and relax. Still scoring very good. The hybrids trajectory and soft landing are ideal. But, they are obviously not for all. To each his own.

I just struggle to keep the ball down so much that a muscle back fairway finder is a perfect fit for me. |

I wonder if that has anything to do with ballooning ball flight other than swing issues? I don't play high altitude enough to really see the difference. Is there a difference? Curious |

If I ever find one that I like then I will let you know. Like I stated, they are not for all. I can admit, it took me time to get the feel for them. Wasn't good at first. They almost found the trash bin. |

Curious 2300 feet or so. I notice about 1/2 a club difference at sea level, but no change in trajectory. The ball just stays close to its apex a little longer |

Nickent DX5 3 & 4, which is why they are in my bag. The problem is they no longer make them. There are still a few new ones for sale, but mostly on places like Ebay. Sweet clubs. Top rated year in and out up until they stopped making new ones about 3 years ago.

I am a major fan of the hybrid club. I have a 19*, 22* and a 25*. They replaces the 3,4 and 5 Iron in my set. The only issue I have is the gap between the 6 Iron and the 5 hybrid. I don't carry a 3 wood, so I can drop the 5 iron in the bag for that 165+ yard gap.
They work great for fairway bunker shots, shots from the rough and even chipping short around the green. I've never hit the rocket ballz hybrid, but did try the 3 wood at the last demo day and Dustin is right. Thats a long 3 wood! |
