Ok, so I decided in our 3rd room/office in our house I wanted to build and indoor putting green for myself. The wife gave me the Ok, so we started building it last night.

Went up to the local Lowes and got some 2x4's, 3/4" particle board, carpeting and misc. materials to build it with.

I had a descent amount of rooom so I went with just a 4' x 6' so it didn't take over the room, as it serves as our computer room/office as well.

So here are some pictures we took last night as we were making it.

Hahaha...Yeah, after I posted it I thought mahy would think that too Mongo. Thanks for checking in on it though.

We'll be finsihing up the putting green tomorrow (playing today after work) and I will post up the finished product tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Should be a lot of fun to have it at the house. Really working on inside of 7 foot putts I think will help our scores out a lot on the course.

Plus, it's Florida. It gets pretty darn hot in the middle of the day. Nothing like practicing indoors in the AC you know?

I've thought about doing this myself. I'd like to come up with a way to give it some break. Maybe put some extra padding under one end or something. Looks interesting!

I think we have come up with a way to add break to it whenever we want, how much and adjustable.

We are going to take a piece of left over 2x4 and cut it to make it look like a wedge of cheese.

Then cut notches that resemble stairs into it at varying lengths on the angle of the wood.

We can then insert the wedges under any side of the putting green to elevate it to varying heights creating a variety of break options.

I elected to go with very thin padding underneath the carpet as I want a very fast putting green like the greens we usually play on.

But I think our system of being able to put break into the green will work out nicley.

Ok guys....Got the putting green pretty much finished yesterday afternoon. Laid the holes out a little different as I said we were going to try.

Got the carpet trimmed and glued down. Holes are in and we are putting on it today.

Here are some pics of the finished product. I am going to put a bordeer around it to keep the balls on the green when I miss the cups. It will also hide a bit of the wood that is visable on the sides.

All in all it came out pretty good I thought.

Did you use 4 1/2 inch PVC pipe fittings for holes. I have been looking for all the materials to do something like this but about four times this size. I want to put it in the back yard. I will need treated wood and outdoor carpet. I have found everything but the carpet costs alot more than I expected.

Yes I did. Made quite a perfect hole for the putting green. They ran about $2 or $3 a peice at Home Depot. The total cost was about $55 - $65 for everything.

Not too bad considering I thought.

What did you get the carpet for?

Wow, that's a lot for the carpet. I got my piece which was 4' x 12' for under $20 I believe. Or right around there. If I remember right it was really like 55 cent per quare feet at Home Depot.

I already threw away the receipt too. But go to the Home Depot website and you can find it on there I'm sure.

Ok, poked around and I found the receipt for this. Carpet was $24.94. And as I said, I had to get a 4' x12' piece as it only came in 12' pieces.

Ok, so here is the link to a video I shot a little bit ago showing how the green rolls.

It's not the best and I will try and shoot another one maybe tomorrow with some different angles etc.
