Sometimes golf courses cut the grass on the tee box that is pointed down the fairway.. try an use that to get yourself aligned depending on what shot you play...draw or fade.

What do you do get line up?

I'll go sort of the other way. Sometimes the course will have the tee box pointed in a way that's not really at the hole. If the hole is at 12 o'clock and the tee box is pointing at 1 o'clock i find it almost impossible to not make myself perpendicular to 1 o'clock.

I stand behind every shot I have beforeI hit, picking an aiming point. I try to pick an object that is higher than ground level.

I find that the tee box is almost NEVER pointed directly down the fairway. I stand behind my ball, face my target, hold the club up pointing at my target and then find a point 2-4 feet in front of the ball that is in line with my target. Address the ball, align my clubface with the point 2-4 feet in front of the ball and fire away.

I line up where I want to aim then find a spot a few feet infront of my ball in that line. I then place the club behind the ball so that it is perpendicular to that same line. Once my club is aligned, i then place my feet so that they ar parallel to my original target line.

I usually find a target in the distance, top of a tree, bunker, clouds, whatever my target is~

I can think of a few courses I play where the tee box lines up directly into the woods. I use the same alignment mark on the ball when teeing up that I use when I'm putting. Aim it where I want to start the ball and then set up square to the mark. I found it helped a lot with getting the ball started in the right direction, still working on what happens after that!

I'll stand behind my ball and find an object behind the green or something at the dogleg. (tree, bunker, hill, cellphone tower, house) or something that is in the direction that I want to go towards and line up to that.

This is by far the best way to line up for a shot. It insures your clubface is square to the target line, AND it insures your feet are parallel to the target line, NOT aimed at the target. You can actually save a little time (and club maneuvering) by picking a spot behind your ball and in front of your ball which point toward your target and then line your feet up parallel to the imaginary line from behind, through and in front of the ball.

Another good aspect of this is if you use several pro's methods of setting up for a draw or a fade. Point the club face where you want the ball to end up and align your feet the way you want the ball flight to start out.

I first pick the spot I see my ball landing and then align tom make that happen. Easier to picture it that way and when I don this consistently I get great FIR %s When I don't do this I start to get lousy shots. The body knows when it can see what your wanting to do. So this allows it to do it.

That is exactly what I do. I find my target line, place the club and then set my feet.......works GREAT for me 98% of the time. The other 2% is mis-hits on the ball.
