Ty Tryon is in the middle of the pack in the final run of Q-School.. Remember this kid... it was like Michelle Wie times ten! but with 54 holes complete and another 54 to go he sits in the middle of the final pack. will he make it? does anyone remember this kid or even care? im kinda pulling for him.

I'm pulling for him. And everyone. I'm rooting for everyone to get their card this weekend. Not an easy thing what they're doing and they should all be rewarded for their work, even though it doesn't quite work that way.

Good for him! He's worked as a teaching assistant at David Leadbetter's academy for long hours with low pay. So he's paid his dues after being humbled by his early PGA failures. This would be a great story!

i don't really care. if he wouldn't have been an idiot and gone all the way through high school and maybe a couple of years of college he would have been in a lot better position. Reminds me a lot of Maurice Clarett.

I hope Bio Kim makes it. A great name! The deodorant companies will be fighting each other to sponsor him!

i dont blamb anyone for having this opinion.
it has been years and though the kid was blessed with a big pay check and someone either coached him into a bad decision or he himself being so young made the poor choice... i think its time for him to earn his way to the tour. he like so many that never make it is a gifted player and im sure would be fun to watch play. im thinking he had plenty of time kicking himself . for some who believe in KARMA i think this kid has possibly due for a good year. and ya the intire field is full of warriors! what an under appreciated battle of mind body and soul must be taking place. wish we had more coverage and personal stories of some of these individuals ... im sure every single one would be interesting.

Well, I don't know about the young man but wish him luck. I know I've made my share of stupid decisions and am fortunate to have had opportunities and understanding to put many past me. Too many young people in sports get pushed to making "career" decisions based on early displays of talent and then get chewed up and spit out along the way then loose the support systems they thought they had. Can be some tough life lessons.

I do remember him. Even though I think the PGA should have requirement that any player must at least graduate from high school I think he has, as bradley894 said, had plenty of time kicking himself. Because of his dedication and determination I have to make an exception here and hope he makes it and does well. Best of luck to him.

The 5th round beings today....Doesn't look like Ty will have his PGA TOur Card..currently Tied for 81...ONLY the TOP 25 earn their cards..

Btw, did anyone see Carlos Franco using his 3 wood to PUTT on the green? must be real desperate.....
yes the top 25 earn a full tour exemption. the rest still playing will all have a nationwide exemption and limmited opportunity on the big tour..
