You know what my idea is? Don't map things out so much and look for stuff like you're doing. I'd just polish my swing, get the occasional tip from TV or online, and just go out there with nothing to lose. I'm worried that if you take all these ideas with you out on the course you're going to have 77 different swing thoughts and screw it up. Just go out there and play.

example, My putter that i already liked. too long and got caught up in my jacket or sweater under my tummy and on every put i needed to make sure my jacket wasnt in the way. and a few times a round i know i got hung up in it and it threw my putt ff... the face angle would change on impact because my center mark on was a hair to the toe and the wear marks on the face were even farther toward the toe.. i cut the thing to 33 inches and re gripped it.. moved the center mark a hair to the heal and that in turn on the carpet at home eliminated the push and the pull as i didnt wory about the face angle changing at impact anymore..
simple Question.. Whats it worth? 1 stroke a round or 3 or what? for sure one stoke right? now multiply that by 10 logical idia's .. like a driver change from something ten years old to a new forgiving fairway finder that gives me 15 more yards and i cant seem to screw up? whats that worth? another stroke? two? remember 18 holes..
another change.. i added a 2 iron as i hit my 3 extreemly well. i will use it on tight holes . dog legs and par 4s where a driver can get you in trouble. the holes i did this with a 3 iron last fall were the ones i could insure id have less then 150 to the green.. the two iron flys just as strait and now instead of 120 to 150 out im 100 to 130 and down the middle?
what is that change worth and whats its value on a par 5 when i can hit it so much more on line then a 3 or 5 wood? another stroke? or two? 3?
see where im going? if i can get just one stoke out of each change im in great shape for 2011..

no no Cog there isnt a single swing thaught.. at all . read on.. simple tactical logical changes.. No thinking.. Simplification. changes that make things less stressfull and complicated.
another example..
i love playing my 6 iron from neer the green as a texas wedge. i love my 60 deg wedge but between the two im getting up and down 40% of the time if im close to the green.. the problem with my 6 iron texas style was the small sweet spot on the club.. remember im stroking it from off the green like a putter.. but the ball comes off hot or semi hot depending if i hit the sweet spot or just part of it or dead if i miss the sweet spot..
THE change will be to always stroke the club like a putt toward the toe so i consistantly on purpose miss the sweet spot for consistant results.. getting myself on average closer to the hole.. if i use it 6 times a round its got to save me a stroke right? just one gimmi putt that i would have missed from 5 feet just one more up and down.. and one simple golf tip that makes sence to me No thoughts no stress.. LESS stress and tentitiveness

I see what you're saying, but like I said at the end I'd just go play golf and swing naturally and do what you think you should do.

Cog.. lol i tried to do that for 25 years.. thinking pounding balls and practicing was the key.. im just trying to get your wheels turning and though im a washed up 43 year old struggling to find the key im trying to sell you on my idia anyway.. i know i dont have the wisdome of Goynes or Lynn lewis or any real swing coach or pro but what frustrates me is that there are a pile of people on here that want to play better golf yet trying to inspire a golf improvement idia or conversation is like pulling teeth.. i should have Titled it Tiger should do this .... or try this... id get a responce.
i dont want to jumble anyones swing thaughts but a person cant expect change in there game without changing something. Your a very Sharp individual.. a very good inteligence level.. Wisdom is what im working on and lookin to gain thank.s for the responces i just know everyone could improve there games with more idias.. many idias dont apply to everyone but when a person heres one that clicks they give it a try.. i cant get enough of idias .. i dont use them all try them all.
But when my miss off of a tee when im faced with OB left is a strait pull and i seem to yank one or two ob left every round i am going to try to fix the issue.. Stress on the tee box cause the pull .. the more you adjust the more wayward your drive will go.. a slimple fix i posted on a blog is to tee your ball up back in your stance and aim for the right side of the fairway.. its almost impossible to pull the ball that far left anymore so problem is solved .. no more penaltys how many stroks will that save ya a round.. ONE TIP.. not to mention that melt down hole if you did yank one out would affect your attitude on the next couple holes.. Stress destroys the fun of the game.. im looking for ways to enjoy the play and remove the stress caused by poor shots .. simple eliminat as many of those situations as you can and replace them with as many good shots or good putts or chip ins or whatever as possible.. just trying get folks thinking and offering idias i have learned that might help someone. and im looking for someone that will bring up Something that i can say. ya. thats a good idia... a good little trick.. i think it simplifies things and can work for me in a certain situation and wont take 20 hours of practice time a week to make work.. thats all.. again.. my plan.. find little things to save a stroke.. solid little sensible moves that I KNOW I can pull off instead of something i have been trying to do for years that is not giving me consistant results or cause frustration.. even if im wrong... and i only get a half a stroke a round out of each of my ten changes for 2011 .. I WIN.. and i will play into the 70's more than rounds in the 80s and i will find more enjoyment in the game by learning to avoid stressfull times with simpler play
