I just noticed the size of KJ Choi's putter grip. It is huge. Do any of you know what the benefits of such a large grip are.

I think what it does is take the hands out of the stroke making for a better chance to hit it online without pushing or pulling the putt.

I have the Winn PCI Three Line Grip on my putter. It is not the largest that they make but it is up there. The large grip helps you not to break your wrist and makes your swing more pendalom like. KJ has been using the large grip for a few years and they sale the exact model he has for around $30.

I've considered trying the larger grip. It seems like when I've tried a putter with a larger grip it felt better but I haven't really practiced with one.

I had tried those jumbo grips, not for me !
A medium sized putter grip or 8-10 wraps of tapes under a regular putter grip will be just fine for my liking.

Too large a grip will take the feel out of the equation, and feel is a big part of putting.

K.J. uses the full sized Tiger Shark Super Stroke grip. It is massive and mostly round, no pistol grip back.

Tiger Shark also makes the Super Stroke Slim, and it's so awesome I'll likely by several and cryogenically freeze them for future use (in case they stop making them). The Slim is bigger than a midsized putter grip but much smaller than the full K.J. It's almost completely taken my right hand out of the stroke which keeps me from smothering short putts left. So wonderful.

Oh ... and on my Scotty Cameron (milled face, no insert, about medium weight) there's very little loss of feel.
