Hello Fellow Golfers:
I had posted a similar topic earlier, but perhaps I did not do a good enough job in explaining myself, or the question the first time, so let's try this again........................ I am curious to see what others think generally about Hybrid clubs, AND specifically I was wondering which Hybrids and their respective lofts, are intended to replace which clubs? For example, a 3H-19' loft would replace which club, 3W, a 5W, or a 3Iron? A 5H-25' loft is intended to replace a..................and so on. Some 'experts' claim that Hybrids are not supposed to replace fairway woods, but rather irons. Other 'experts' claim that Hybrids are intended to replace anything from a 3W -6 iron, depending on their lofts and lengths. I realize that individual results will happen, due to diff. swings, speeds, ect., but with so many options out there now with Hybrids and fairway woods, I am curious to know what people are finding out for themselves. Simply put, you look at the loft of the iron your replacing and pick a hybrid with the same degree of loft. You can alter it a degree or whatever you choose but my 3 hybrid is the same loft as my 3 iron. Definitely easier to hit too.....

It's really a matter of preference. However, depending on your handicap range and swing speed, may golf 'experts' say to replace your long irons with hybrids. Some will say that you shouldn't carry an iron longer than a 5 iron. Replacing 4,3, and/or 2 irons with hybrids. The lofts are loosely based on your set makeup. My 3 hybrid is a 21 degree because my 4 iron is 24 degrees. However, I carry a strong 3 wood (13.5 degree), so I've got a gap between my 3H and my 3W. Maybe 1 day I'll add a 5 wood or 2H, but I don't have much use for that right now.
